What ever happened to Connor Simon (SS)?
Never could completely recover from his injury. Not sure if he hung up the cleats are is still trying to get it figured out. It's a shame, all the talent in the world and a work ethic to go with it. Best ability is availability, though.

Skenes/Hurd/Floyd would be my guess as of now considering just 2 weeks of fall with Taylor lingering close behind. Still think they will give Little a shot at extending and starting on she can throw but I think he will be best at the back end of the bullpen.
Only other thing as of now would be having travinski in the DH spot also.

Unless the pace of his progression speeds up, I think they may be looking at Hurd for Sunday to start with. But, yes, I think you're inevitably looking at Skenes and Hurd, then a battle for Sunday that Floyd is winning handily. Regardless where they slot, we have 3 Friday night arms and that's not mentioning the potential of Little being in the conversation. I think Little could be a guy to look at with Taylor on the back end. And, you still have Shores as a really high ceiling arm to slot anywhere you need it, be it as a bridge and/or weekday starter. Still alot to work out with pitching, but I'm pretty comfortable with 7-8 guys already, no matter what their role is. And, then, you still have Noot.

How nice would it be to actually have your weekend starters consistently eat up 16-18 innings per series? Last year LSU was lucky to get 12-14 innings per weekend from its starting pitching.

Ackenhausen could be a weekend guy
LHP with some pitch ability

Thanks! I'm planning on taking my sons out to one of them.

I think he can be an option but not sure he would be able to beat out Skenes/Hurd/Floyd/Taylor/Little. I'd rather have him in the pen. Still not sure how much the 2 LHP freshmen will contribute as of now. If they can't give you much this season then I think you would have to have him and Cooper as the 2 LHP coming out the pen. Still early to tell all that though.

I've been pretty quiet this fall but Taylor and Floyd are going to surprise people because they aren't the "new".
I'd like to see one of their power arm such as a Little or Shores be the centerpiece of that bullpen if it works outs.
It's way too early like you said.

Replace Little with Shores and you have my picks to be starters and long relief.
Skenes and Hurd seem like they could be locked in. Taylor and Floyd are battling for the third spot but shores has that kind of talent. Start thinking about what Little and Noot could bring once they’re up to speed… and Auk, Coleman, Lansville, Moffett, Cooper…
The staff really rounds out to something very strong and deep.
After 2 weeks, the true weakness of this team is middle infield depth. I think Thompson and Guidry are fine and Dugas/Nippolt/Merrifield can handle 2nd. But any injury and you start to feel anxious.

Ackenhausen is basically a Cooper clone.
I like him, but I don’t see him as a weekend starter on this team. I think he will be used a lot b/c he and Cooper will be your most trusted LHPitchers imo. Interested to see if Primeaux can develop into a piece along with Herring.
I will be out at the Box Sunday to watch Little.

Herring had a bad time last weekend. I want to see him bounce back because 92 from the left side is special.
I know Ackenhausen is how you spell it but man your name is 4 syllables. You’re getting a nickname and I’ve chosen Auk because autocorrect. You’re welcome.

Yeah, Herring did have a rough outing last time out. Bronzini is also in the mix, but I'm not sure how much work he will get this year. I was a little disappointed to see his fastball at 86-87 mph.
Plenty of ammunition for Wes to work with, and I could see someone like Shores really coming on late in the season to be a big piece of this staff. 97-98 with a 3 pitch mix and his tilt? Whew!

Anyone know why Cory left? Is he going to another program or private business maybe with his wife?
Posted on 10/18/22 at 10:17 am to ell_13
Private business. Left for the same reasons everyone else left for

Good for him. I know his wife’s business is very successful and she’s in that realm too. Maybe they’re looking to expand.

God knows he has enough mouths to feed.

Is Travis Roy still there? He and Cory were the last ones from the PM days right?
