Actually, his link to the BCS "motivation" supports my argument. But, whatever.

Hmmmm--let's see.
The SEC champs beats everybody else's champs every single year--and pretty easily at that.
Maybe that explains the so called "SEC bias".
Maybe that's why the computers, voters, and yes, the fans(whether they openly admit it or not), will demand and dictate that Bama gets to play LSU again for the NC.
They are the two best teams in the country, and they will play...which is why the BCS was created in the first place--to ensure that #1 plays #2, despite all of the incessant whining in this thread.
For the record, I'd much rather LSU played either Boise, Ok St, OU, Oregon, Stanford, Va Tech, or Houston than Bama.
Maybe the OP and his crack squad of blog authors can make that happen.

You don't know much about college football or it's fans if this is your prediction.

i totally agree that Bama should be left out because they didnt win their conference.. but Stanford isnt winning the PAC12..
what if OSU loses to OU? and VT loses to Clemson?
Oregon is out, well because rematches are a no-no..
Im happy to let 2 loss Wisconsin go to NO.. but what if they dont win the big10?
I guess Houston or Boise could show up.. but i doubt handing the SEC a cupcake would make many people happy either..

Can you honestly answer for us what your stance was on an Oregon rematch with LSU prior to their loss to USC? I would love an honest answer on this although I doubt we will get one.
Secondly do you really expect Coach Miles or any coach for that matter to advocate for or against their prospective oppenents in the NCG? That would be a complete suicide for the coach from the media fallout. You don't get that?

Recently Les Miles has changed tunes and become a hypocrite in saying he would welcome facing Bama again for the title in a rematch. He has lost a lot of respect from many who remember him saying that maxim but now being a hypocrite...
Dumbass.

The OP has a lot of things correct. I think if OSU and VT finish with just one loss, there will be a lot of sentiment to give one of them a chance instead.
The idea of a rematch is bad precedent, and it could certainly come back to haunt us. Is OSU better than Alabama or LSU? We don't know, they haven't played either SEC team. But we do know LSU went into Bama and won.
Is LSU better than Bama? Well, we beat them, but what if we lose to a 10 win team in Georgia in Atlanta? Bama doesn't play next week, so do they move up to #1? Afterall, you could argue that they lost to a better team than we did... things get awfully confused if you try to make it complicated enough.
Let's keep it simple; the best team from the SEC should be under consideration to play someone else for the national title. This year, LSU looks to be that team. Bama's a really close 2nd, but they lost to us on the field.

ehh whatever I actually agree with most of what you're saying. I'm only in this thread because OP is acting like a douche
Yeah, I think a lot of people are just arguing against the OP and his editorializing about the SEC. That's not my point whatsoever. I'm only interested in who plays in the BCSCG regardless of conference. I still maintain people are missing the point about the BCS "mission" AND I think there will be less interest in an LSU-'Bama rematch than people in the Southeast would like to believe. But, frick it. I really don't give a shite.

Why is Alabama not as deserving as someone else? Sure, that didn't beat LSU, but neither has anybody else.
but the other teams ok st, VT, and stanford havent lost to them(at home).

they had their shot. it was close but they lost. Herbie actually had it right during/after the game. he said if it had been close and lsu lost he could see a rematch but not losing at home.

The point of the BCS mission is to get the number one RANKED team to play the number two RANKing.
Emphasis is on the word rank there. The polls don't always get it right. This year they have though.
I still think a conference champion should get in over a non conference champion though.
You are wrong in thinking that the game wont get the ratings though IMO

There was much chatter around the country that Oregon had a great chance at a rematch against LSU--until they once again lifted their skirts for USC.
Duck fans would have loved it--because as many of them have said--"The Ducks are playing much better now than when they faced LSU earlier in the year."
Whatever makes them feel better I guess.
Besides, according to the OP, Oregon gave LSU the game anyway.
How do these types of people face themselves in the mirror? They talk about football like it's a ballroom dance competition or something.
God, make it stop!

The BCS agreement, forged between the six
major “BCS” conferences (the Pac-10, Big 12, Big Ten, ACC, SEC, and Big East, plus Notre Dame as
an independent), was instituted in 1998 in an attempt to fix such problems by matching the top two
NCAA Division I-A teams in an end-of-season BCS
National Championship game. The BCS Standings,
tabulated by The National Football Foundation [18],
selects the champions of the BCS conferences plus
two at-large teams to play in four end-of-season
“BCS bowl games”, with the top two teams playing
in a National Championship game that rotates
among those bowls.
why is that so confusing?
