If he had signed Brady to an extension three months ago he would have secured his reputation. By allowing Brady to go this long without signing him, he has created a situation where the guy is now likely to leave. Not a good look for your new AD to let the guy who transformed your program to walk after 1 year.

The $75 million at A&M has been discussed ad nauseum. A&M has an endowment whose annual returns alone is more than some schools will see from their combined efforts of ticket sales, concessions, donations, etc. Fact is, A&M targeted the guy they wanted and then went and made sure nobody else could compete for him.
