Simple. Job satisfaction. Loves what he’s doing, loves who he is doing it with, well paid, upward mobility, stable situation. He will get a huge raise as well.
I do believe he could go somewhere else and probably make more money if that is what he is after. But he may not be as happy and the situation more tenuous. Stable situation with no drama has value...
