People hang their hat on the fact Clemson hasn’t played anyone. They haven’t, but that doesn’t make them a bad football team. They are a great team. One of the best, if not the best we will play this season. They just don’t have the body of work that LSU has this season. I love the confidence our fans have, but do feel like they are in for a letdown this Monday if it’s not 59-14 type game they expect. With that being said, do I think LSU wins? Yes. Do I think it will be over at halftime? No. Will I be surprised if we destroy them? Not at all.

I don't care if it is by 1 point as long as LSU wins.

Yes, we do. The issue is that Clemson has no freaking idea who they are playing.

Oklahoma is looking on and just shaking their heads at Clemson and saying, "You're in our thoughts and prayers. Where shall we send the funeral floral arrangement?"

Just cause you are a fan of a school that will never ever win a national championship, doesn't mean LSU won't win this game on Monday and take home another National Championship.

Nonetheless, here is the scoop, Clemson and Ohio State had great and consistent defensive numbers when they were both playing scrubs and cupcakes for the majority of the season. However, once their competition finally stiffened up near the end of the season, guess what? The true reality of their defenses started to show up and become exposed.

For instance, in Ohio State's last three games, their defense allowed on average 415 yards of total offense a game, while Clemson's defense allowed on average 359 yards of total offense a game in their last three games.

Meanwhile, in their last three games, you know how many yards of total offense LSU's defense gave up against the stiffer competition? Only an average of 259 yards of total offense a game.

Professional handicappers always use the stats from each opposing team's last three games intentionally because it gives a truer indication of how each team will likely perform when they play each other. As all earlier stats prior to those three games for either team are irrelevant.

Now LSU's defense wasn't performing this good for the entire season cause LSU's defense for most of the season has been very banged up. However, luckily right before the start of the college football playoffs began, all of a sudden all of LSU's previously injured players healed up and became fully healthy again. And the result has been that in the past three games against stiff competition, LSU's defense has been performing like LSU defense's of the past.

So since in the last three games of the season, LSU's defense has consistently given up an average of 100 yards less of total offense per game relative to Clemson's defense, then one has to conclude that at this time, LSU has the better defense going into this national championship game.

Furthermore, Clemson's offense is completely incomparable to LSU's offense cause with the exception of only one game, all of Clemson's offensive numbers were generated against cupcake teams with cupcake defenses. While LSU's offensive stats, on the other hand, were generated against a majority of teams ranked in the AP Top Ten Poll. As LSU played and beat six teams ranked in the AP Top Ten Poll, with three of those teams being ranked in the Top Four at the time that LSU played and beat them.

Hence, it is safe to say that LSU clearly has the better offensive team of the two teams involved. Not only that but LSU's offense has also shattered all of the previous offensive records in the SEC and most of them in the NCAA as well.

Not to mention that the last time LSU faced Brent Venables was in the 2003 national championship game when LSU defeated Oklahoma to win the 2003 National Championship.

Nonetheless, because of the reasons cited above, I expect LSU to defeat Clemson in New Orleans to win the National Championship title game next Monday, and just like it did when LSU defeated Clemson in New Orleans to win the 1958 National Championship. However, I expect the margin of victory to be greater in this national championship game than it was in the 1958 game.

Lsu has an unstoppable offense. Period. We're gonna score about 48. We're holding nothing back.

Defense has been back to Lsu standard nearing the end of the year, we have a better one than that of Ohio state and Clemson looked average vs them. Lsu defense at its best is scary good. We'll get pressure for sure, our dbs will give up some plays but not many, and the run game will not be very fruitful.

Pure fan fantasy and bravado. Call it irrational exuberance!! It’s stupid.

Clemson will be the most balanced offense we have faced. We didn’t play a team with a running back as good as Etienne. Their receivers will play on Sunday and Lawrence is the 2021 #1 NFL draft pick.
This will be the best defense we will face with a quality DC that has had 2 weeks to scheme.

This game will be a battle and it may come down to who has the ball last.
