Bama might be better, but they were also fortunate. Fortunate that the refs are incompetent. Fortunate that LSU had injuries and Peterson had cramps. Because until the cramps and injuries piled up, LSU was winning late in the game. Bama was fresh off a bye week. It's not making excuses to point out these reasons.

Are you going to tell me with the talent we have we shouldn't win at least 9 games a year. There are a bunch of teams out there that do more with less.

You do know that we don't have a monopoly on talent, right? There are other schools around the nation that have talent on their team too.

I love how we brag that the SEC is the toughest conference in the land, but people like you somehow think that only LSU has all the talent in it.

Name the other teams that have had recruiting classes "ranked" higher (or anywhere near for that matter) than ours in the last 5-6 years.

These players are not prepared (or the refs are biased, pick your reason), the stats don't lie.

Florida
USC
Oklahoma
Texas
Georgia
Notre Dame
Ohio St.
Michigan
Bama

Over the last five years, all have been ranked somewhere in the top ten recruiting classes. Except for Bama, which has been top ten since Saban arrived.

biggest fail of the day

they were down by 6 with 5:54 left in the game. Peterson made an interception, and the ball should have been LSU's with almost 6 minutes to play.

THAT is being in a position to win

How many timeouts did we have at that point? Did bama score after that because we didn't lose by 6? We had no penalties after that point? If the game stopped with 5:54 left you may have a point. Nice try.

you conveniently used the last 14 games to prove your adgenda. statistically, you suck. we aren't that stupid. last yr is over. whay don't you go back farther that 14 games. why don't you use this year only. we are 4-2 and lost to the #1 team by 10 and got hosed and lost to the #3 team by 9. all kinds of improvements are going on and you don't want to see them.

5:54 is more than enough time to score, timeouts or not. when we intercepted the ball we were only down by 6. we would have had 5:54 to try and drive down for a tying touchdown and possible go ahead extra point... nice try

I was asking cumulatively over the last 5 years. I don't think there are that many ahead of us but I could be wrong.

This is one of the stupidest things I have seen on here.
They would have been in position to win with that amount of time left because:
1) Clock stops to reset the chains on first downs and incomplete passes
2) Alabama does not sccore again if they do not have the ball.

So to say the team did not put themselves in position to win is ridiculous, even with injuries and mistakes and in spite of the fact they were playing one of the top defenses in the country on their home field.

The players played their asses off and right now they hurt deep. We can not change the outcome, unfortunately it is over, time to encourage the team for the next game this Saturday night.

Nice, well thought-out comeback.
1. Exactly how many "undisciplined" penalties did Bama have? Sending a guy to block a punt inside your territory? What?
2. How many Bama players "fell out" during the game? (I'm not counting Charles Scott) Along those lines, how many LSU players have been laying on the ground this entire year "injured" as compared to other teams only to come back in one or two plays later - it's noticeable, count them the last three games.
3. How your team is not prepared to attack a team that has been knocked off balance by a long pass play (Tolliver)and a successfull run (Scott)is poor team management. It has been a common thread w/Crowton AND Miles that they repeatedly fail to capitalize on momentum swings.
4. Do you really believe that having better players would have made a difference in this game? What makes you think that Bama will NOT be better next year?
5. Exactly how many timeouts did we have with about 11 minutes to go in the game?
Very little of this is the players fault - they don't have a clue. This all comes down to a coach that needs to improve himself and surround himself w/a few more outstanding coaches.

I would think more LSU fans would be concerned by this than they are. This is not even close to meeting the standards that have been set over the last 7 or 8 years. However, they seem to have an excuse for everything.
