I realize he’s been #40 for a while, but wasn’t he wearing #10 for FSU game?

He did switch initially. I think he changed his number bc of special teams. Jaray plays a lot of special teams and I think initially Perkins and Jenkins would have been on the field at the same time both wearing #10

I see in the SEC Instagram post for his player of the week, his profile picture has him wearing #10.

Sometimes the put a different number on player so he can be on special teams. Then the take the jersey off. Let's say Perkins is on kick teams and someone gets hurt or replaced and the replacement is a double number. Someone has to put in a different number.
Not saying this happend but could be the case.

He wore number 10 in camp but he changed it prior to the Florida State game. I didn’t see a reason why he changed it but I am willing to bet playing special teams has something to do with it.

Perkins needs to keep #40. Don’t let anyone put that #7 stink on you the next 2 years.
