Obviously hold onto who you can in ‘25 class.. but for us to compete next year I expect we will have to spend big money in the portal like Lane & others.

My prediction is we need to spend 10-15MM in NIL this offseason to get the needed horses.

Sadly I don’t think the appetite from our boosters is there.

The money is there, the boosters need to be convinced that BK is worth the investment.

This is correct. LSU lost booster support at the end of O's tenure, BK comes in and tries to mend it, and he's right back to what O was dealing with. Several boosters are not convinced he's worth the headache right now. There's no talk of buyouts and he does not have full booster support right now either. Someone is going to have to bring them all together to right this. Too many internal politics and I don't think BK is the person to sort it honestly.

I think they're going to lose a few big names in recruiting as well due to money. Pickett is a strong possibility of not ending up with LSU. The relationship with Raymond is not the deciding factor it's money. Kade and Pickett one or both are not going to sign with LSU.

That should be Scott Woodward’s job to do the internal politicking

Partially maybe but not the only factor. BK is the coach and he has to convince booster's he's the right guy to win something here. I think he has left a sour taste in many mouths and it's not just from on the field play.

Cultural fit is overplayed on recruits but I don't think this is true for boosters. You have to be able to network boosters and fit into this culture. He's not the guy for this honestly. Had the same problems at Notre Dame which if you notice their support went up when he left. He has a problem for being accountable for his actions. He complained about boosters at ND it's only a matter of time before he does that here.

They've allowed him to build what he wants here and right now it's a complete failure in year 3 with a team who has a serious talent issue. It's very close to being to what it was when O left the biggest difference is he has HS depth here though young. LSU is not going to be a good team next year unless they spend serious money into the portal. Good luck.

Just save the money. You could have the 1972 Dolphins here and Kelly wouldn't know what to do with them.

It is, and shaking trees to get people to spend money has always been his biggest assets. And it’s probably the best quality an AD can have.

And I don’t buy that the boosters are holding back because of Kelly. If anything, his buyout being so big is a good thing regarding that, because they know Scott’s not gonna be coming around asking for that anytime soon.

Watch and see if Ole Miss and, God forbid Tulane, make the 1st 12-team CFP and we’re 8-4. I think the pocketbooks will, maybe begrudgingly, will open up. They can’t stand the thought of falling behind Ole Miss, and Tulane making it would just be an embarrassing slap in the face.

You don't think the past 2 seasons opened eyes at how little talent we had? The difference here is BK was given what he wanted. This is what he wanted. He didn't want bidding wars on players in the portal and wanted to commit to HS recruiting. The result right now is a team that's arguably worse than when he came in. The only saving grace is he has more depth that can potentially develop.

IF BK really wanted to win as his primary concern to come to LSU, he could donate 1/2 his 10 million salary each year and if players are properly vetted and evaluated, he could actually make LSU a big winner very soon when added to the rest of the monetary NIL support LSU has. Nah, I don't think he will either, because he was only at LSU because LSU is the only team nearsighted enough to pay this man anywhere near what they are paying him.
