I agree with Truck, I think Choctaw is Les's nephew.

Choctaw....you are struggling to make valid points....
you're right...and what happened when LSU had their starters in?

I have a feeling we will take it out on Vandy. But they will still hate us because it was Vandy. I sure hope we win it all this year. Screw all the haters, even the NegaTigers.

I tend to agree. My gripe is never with the love bestowed upon clearly superior teams (Bama this year, for instance). It's with how much leniency and undeserved attention some down programs receive while other similarly situated programs get shat upon at every turn.
Take these power rankings for instance. I understand Bama (clearly) and Florida (less clearly), but what have the other four teams ahead of us done to deserve so much credit. Georgia, Arky, Auburn, and SC haven't earned as much hardware among the four of them as we have in the last 10 years. Oh yeah, we beat three of those four teams last year. And we beat SC twice in the last three years.
And we're better this year.

Choctaw, do you have reserved seats in Les Miles' suite? you sure do beat the drum for him a lot, only to be made to look like a fool over and over and over because of his nonsensical, half witted, dopey and futile coaching ability. join the dark side it's much better over here. CAUSE WE ARE RIGHT!!!!!
i agree when someone makes valid points. Its the idiotic statements that i refute. You'll never see me take up for the coaches on obvious mistakes.
For example...i thought they put in the freshmen way too early. I would've waited til the 4th quarter. But hey...weren't y'all screaming all offseason about how Miles should play more freshmen? Well there ya go....maybe Miles reads the rant and shouldn't take the advice of tards.

3 great individual plays by Shepard, Peterson and Randle. the rest of the time FUTILITY!!!

All these new guys on TD need to respect Choctaw, hes a vet on here. I may not agree with him on some things, but show your respect

Third time I've seen you use that tired excuse in two days.
So a $4 million coach needs public opinion, trial and error, a learning curve...he should be setting the curve!

yeah i noticed you had nothing to say when i brought to the table Jefferson's actual numbers, but i thought you'd agree when someone makes valid points??? just in case you missed it.
15 completions for 151 yards
1 51 yard completion
1 21 yard completion
13 completions for 79 yards.
other that the completions of 51 and 21 yards, none went for longer than 7 yards.
that's not the numbers a QB should have when he has agruably the most talented 3 deep WRs in the confrence.
rebuttle please!!!!

And why did Miles do this. Thas right he doesn't remember how to put an opponent away.

all good points. Crowton went vanilla in the 2nd half...which was stupid. I would've loved nothing more than for LSU to run the score up on UNC. I did think JJ had a decent game though for the first game of the year. His completion % was pretty high and the TD pass was beautiful. I would've liked to see them go down field more considering UNC was playing backup CBs, but they said all offseason how they wanted to establish the run this season because of how bad it was last year.
I'd also like to add that PP may have had the most impressive special teams play ive ever witnessed. Does the coaching staff get any credit for that?

I refuse to believe that beating UNC in its current state is somehow less impressive than beating Samford, New Mexico State, Miami of Ohio, South Carolina State, Tennesee Tech...

When Crowton was at Tech vanilla was not his style. Maybe some stupidity, not vanilla.
Seems more like Bo Big 10 style.

Their amazing linebackers
That is why I think UNC will do better this year than people expect- those 2 linebackers were all over the field, we will not face a better pair this season. One thing people forget too- it's not like UNC made the decision to not let the guys play that were held out the night before the game, the backups did have a chance to practice with the first team during game week. I think special teams was the area where UNC was really affected by the players held out of the game.

you say Crowton, but it has been a staple of Les Miles since he's been at LSU. remember year 1 versus Tennessee and Arkansas, he also did it in the National Championship game and various games throughout his career. if he gets up 20 on a team, he pulls back the reins. i think Crowton has a lot to do with the playcalling issues, but i think Les Miles has a lot to do with why this team can't finish.
of Course JJ had a high completion percentage, 80% of his passes were glorified handoffs. now i do understand in building confidence in your QB by starting with short throws, but when you have 3 WRs like LSU does, there is no reason there aren't more down field passes. especially as you pointed out, against a depleted secondary.
i have a huge problem with Miles always trying to establish the run. first off, he hasn't gotten a Top level OL as a recruit since he's been here, secondly there seesm to be NO continuity in the running game since Crowton has taken over, so why continue to

i think the coaching staff gets credit in recognizing they need to somehow get the ball in it's best players hands, cause it just wasn't happening playing CB. but i think the impressive play by PP was all individual. yes he had teammates blocking for him, but he set up his blockers like a natural out there. if the coaches found a way to work him into the Offense (as they supposedly are doing) i'll give them slightly more credit.
