Players shouldn't make comments like that. We don't need to help them.

What comments?
Ricky Jean-Francois and his "Car Wreck" defense are after Tim Tebow
Meet Ricky Jean-Francois. If the picture doesn't do the Tigers defensive tackle justice, check out this clip of him working out. When I talked with Jean-Francois last week, he said his defensive line getting a clean shot on a quarterback like Tim Tebow equates to "a car wreck without a seat belt."
Let the Florida-LSU week officially begin, folks.
"If we get a good shot on (Tebow), we're going to try our best to take him out of the game," Jean-Francois said. "With his size and his heart, it's hard to get a clean shot."
When asked how Tebow might deal with the pain of an LSU hit, Jean-Francois said "If he does get hurt, there's a trained medical staff at Florida, so you can go to the training room on Sunday."
That's one dude I wouldn't want to anger. In fairness, Jean-Francois and his fellow lineman Tyson Jackson both expressed a respect for Tebow and his toughness in last week's interviews. But that doesn't mean they don't want to lay him out, Jean-Francois said.
"I think every lineman wants to get a good hit on a Heisman Trophy winner," Jean-Francois said.
The Gators are going to have to avoid more than big hits in order to rebound from last year's 28-24 loss that included LSU's five straight fourth-down conversions. Jean-Francois said the fourth downs and Jacob Hester's touchdown run with 1:09 left "took the life out of them."
Gators linebacker Brandon Hicks said the defense is playing with revenge in mind. Florida practiced Sunday night and will be off on Monday.
"OK, this is the game," Hicks said. "This week, there's nothing else that really matters. There's no worrying about the bye week after LSU. It's just nothing but 8 p.m. this Saturday night. We've got a chip on our shoulders, a fire in our eyes to kick somebody's butt."

There is nothing wrong with some smack talk before a big game. However, the comment about Tebow getting injured was uncalled for. If Tebow does get hurt or any late hits, that comment will come back to haunt LSU for the rest of the season. I can't stand UF or Meyer so I hope y'all kill them but that comment wasn't called for IMO.
I'm sure RJF can back everything up and put alot of pressure on Tebow but I hope there's no cheap shots on Tebow.
All in all though, that comment will have nothing to do with the outcome because LSU is too talented IMO.

1. ESPN failed to report who supplied them with this fabricated quote of RJF. A homer from a Gator Blog site called Swamp Thing.
2. ESPN didn't call Miles and ask him about it. They only got a response from the Gators offensive Coordinator.
I smell something fishy.

The ones fabricated by Fowler. A Florida Gator homer. I know him personally and he told me he made them up. All lies.

Despite the poll or its results, RJF needs to STFU.
So quit hiding behind The Rant and go tell him yourself.

I don't think a defensive lineman should have many goals higher than knocking the opposing teams qb out of the game. Gives you're team a great chance of winning...unless you're Auburn.

Well his lies have blown up this board, got a poll submitted by ESPN, was apparently on a scroll on ESPN, and made it on Mike and Mike in the morning. He better hope RJF doesn't find his arse.

You know ESPN is trying so hard for a story, Fowler is trying to get the gators fired up and make a name for himself. If you read Fowler's blog, he is an idiot with tons of typos. He says he had an "exclusive interview with Tyson Jackson". Really Fowler?!! Exclusive?! This guy needs to be exposed.

Here is a quote from Fowler's Swamp Thing Website
quote:
I had an exclusive interview with Fowler the other day and he stated that "he prefers cut over uncut and swallowing over the other fun alternatives"... direct quote. Exclusive. Posted by: Gator Friend | October 07, 2008 at 01:14 PM

If it is lies I think he will be exposed. Because I am quite sure that Miles has been asked about RJF's comments. And I am sure he will ask RJF. And when/if he denies ever talking to the guy, he will be exposed.
I can see it now. Miles calls a press conference Saturday morning. He rants about how pissed he is, "RJF DID NOT even talk to Fowler. He did not say that he wanted to injure Tebow. He is busy. He has a game to play. Now if you don't mind, he needs to get back to his damn strong defensive line! Have a great day!"

I could care less. He said what every lb in the conference thinks day in and day out. Besides, aren't we talking about football?
Last I chekced, the sport was premised on the idea of tackling.

as for tebow:
don't think for ONE SECOND that RJF isn't in his head right now.

if players from either of these teams aren't up for this game they shouldn't be out there. words are just words
Posted on 10/7/08 at 12:47 pm to Summer Grove Tiger
its not like he said they are going to cheap shot him.
he just said if he gets a shot he is going to take it.
what else would he do?

Classic example of taking what are allegedly RJF's words and taking them totally out of context. So if he gets the opportunity to hit tebow he should just pull up?

621,254 people in Vermont don't seem to care. (0 votes)

No different from Hicks comments......Hell, it will be a war. I see nothing wrong w/ RJF comments.......
