Not sure how we made top 5 in front 7

Look at the depth chart and it's not that hard to figure out.

Yep, would prefer to not be ranked in anything and let the coaches and players feel disrespected and carry that attitude into every game...

Yeah, the Charlie Browns are all out. Just remember Lucy when NOVEMBER gets here.

Again, LSU is very good at meeting or exceeding pre-season expectations.

Where they haven't done as well is at meeting October expectations after rolling through the first part of the season and having expectations ratcheted up. There is evidence out there to question LSU's rankings in mid-October, not in the summer.

Way to include my entire quote. I don't have a problem with them being top 5, just that I'm surprised that DBs didn't make it. If they separated it between DL and LB corps, I have no doubt that DL would be top 5. I am more concerned with LB, as we have depth, but just not a ton of experienced linebackers.

Last year's performance under Steele is weighing down the perception of our DBs. Of course the problem's under Steele will be fixed with Aranda.

How many teams running a 3-4 have 220lb inside LBs like Duke Riley? And how many have NTs weighing under 300lbs? And how many have DEs with no pass rushing skills and poor run-defense grades like LaCouture?

We have individual talent, but I'll wait to see how it actually translates into the scheme.

Not sure how many times it needs to be said but the NT is Aranda's 3-4 is not always a space eater. A guy a little smaller but more explosive is exactly what it calls for sometimes. While Riley is a little small his has the summer to bulk up and could be close to 230 by the time the season starts. Plus white is right behind him at 250 and could easily take that spot. Lacouture is solid and will be a year older and more experienced so not sure what your gripe is there. And de's in most 3-4 defenses aren't pass rushers. And Neal very much has pass rushing skills so your wrong either way.
