ESPN last night... Herbie said OU #1

Did you hear Herbie last night on SportsCenter giving his reason why OU is better than both LSU and Bama. Offense, because OU's offense is better than both LSU and Bama. Doesn't defense win a game. Also, LSU has put up over 30 points in all but 1 game (a defensive game with MSU)against much stronger defenses than OU has faced and much higher ranked opponents. Is it possible that OU's offense so good because the defenses they face are just OK. The play they showed as he made that statement would have been picked by TM7. Guess dem Tigers will have to beat OU AGAIN in the Dome for Herbie to say "I knew it, I knew it all along." AGAIN!

I think Herbie is a moron for having OU at 1. They would get eaten alive by LSU or Bama's defense.

You guys will never understand...
1. Not everyone is always going to have the same opinion as you. That's OK.
2. You have to take everything the TV guys says with a grain of salt because they are in it for the ratings.

His point was that the three top teams (OU, Bama and LSU) are extremely close, so the one thing he could find to separate them was OU's stud quarterback (as opposed to Bama or LSU's good, but not great QBs).....
Hard to argue his logic, but we'll never know unless OU plays both Bama and LSU this year.....

How many offenses have Bama and LSU played which are as good as OU's? Aside from UO's, I don't think either Bama or LSU has faced a very good offense

None of those offenses have any balance. LSU and Bama can both dominate any offense that doesn't have balance. OU is more balanced than any of those teams. I, personally don't have a problem with what Herbie thinks. OU's defense is a step below Bama and LSU, however, they are definitely better than both Bama and LSU on the offensive side of the ball.

Is it really THAT far fetched for someone to be of the opinion that the #3 team in the country should be #1? People need to grow the hell up and stop acting like someone just called there mom a whore everytime a talking head doesnt suck our balls. If LSU had the same resume as OU and we were ranked 3rd and Kirk said the same thing about us, everyone would like loving it.
