ESPN is already firing up the talks.
*On a scale of 1-14 with 1 being the most stable job.

14. Les Miles, LSU

12th season, 112-32 record

It’s stunning that Miles would be in any danger whatsoever, given he has won 9.3 games a season and a national title with the Tigers. It’s clear that Nick Saban has altered expectations for most everyone in the SEC, most notably at LSU, his previous stop in the league. Saban envy is real.

An influential LSU donor called Insider last fall on the day of the regular-season finale against Texas A&M. His understanding was that Miles was out and that FSU’s Jimbo Fisher would be announced as the new coach in a matter of days. It was that close to happening. Athletic director Joe Alleva and the school’s leadership reportedly decided midgame to keep Miles after seeing the outcry from fans.

There’s nothing remotely stable about that scenario, and it doesn’t create an air of calm moving forward, despite the fact that LSU returns as much talent as any team in the country.

Coaches and agents believe it’s SEC title or bust for Miles. The question would then become: Would Fisher be more interested this time around?

ESPN obviously doesn't know the real story. Miles will be here as long as he wants by continuing to win 9 of 12 regular season games. Add a bowl win and it's a 10 win season.

I think even the Miles haters like the offseason moves. We should be better this year.

So DALSU called ESPN claiming to be a big donor....

Miles is a master in chaotic situations that's why I don't understand why people think he will be distracted about something that happened last November.

All Miles has to do is adapt his offense and get the most out of his talent. That's it bc the wins will come then. It's that simple...
If he gets the offense rolling, we will win. If we win, everything corrects itself. If he doesn't, we will be the new UGA under Mark Richt. Great talent but never win the big games.

Sounds like the donor is a butthurt douchebag.

When you are fighting a war these are the kind of people you don't want on your side.

ESPN just stirring stuff up. I literally saw an article the other day that was about "headlines we don't expect to see again in 2016" the Les miles firing was in it.

I understand there should be some talks about his job stability but for him to be in the most unstable position OF ALL the head coaches in the SEC is laughable.

i think he's safer now more than ever since the state is bankrupt...I know i know it's private money and crap but it will look really ugly for the state to bring in a 10 mil dollar coach + buyout money, imo

and Malzahn. Without seeing the full list though, Miles, by default, would be in the bottom half because of all the coaches in the league that are still in their first couple of seasons.

I have been unhappy with Miles on several occassions. However, the offseason moves have been A+ and I look forward to a NC and rolling BAMA out of Tiger stadium.

Well if these idiots knew how to add, subtract and divide they'd do a better job of journalism. Miles has won an average of 10.18 games/year not 9.3 and that is quite a difference. At least they could get the facts straight. Fricking idiots.

The math is rt if you are saying he's coached 12 seasons. But he's coached 11. Should be 10.18 wins per season. 9.3 if he loses every game next season.

Yeah it's going to take a few years to get down to that. Actually, he prob retires before that happens.

With regard to perception, offense is a powerful thing. High production, pass oriented offenses make both teams and coaches appear better than what they really are. Defense wins championships, but offense wins over the psyche of talking heads.

ESPN writes tons of articles criticizing Les. They essentially call him a baffoon on TV and scrutinize his gameday shortcomings like clock management. They talk about how LSU underachieves given their talent. They lament how Miles can't get a passing game going.

Out of the other side of their collective mouths, they wring their hands when LSU's fans and administration make similar evaluations about Miles. They can't understand why LSU would look at going another direction.

So in short, ESPN sows discord regarding Miles' job performance, then gets uppity when there is discord regarding his performance. #theWorldWideLeader
