You and H-Town are wrong. Slaves were not free. You had to buy them from northern ship owners who had brought them from Africa. Those northern ship owners and the financial interest in the north made almost as much money off of slavery as did the South. Slaves were considered more valuable than were poor whites at the time so projects like the New Orleans Lake canal were done by imported Irish, where many died and were simply thrown to the side. Feeding, housing and keeping slaves healthy enough to be productive wasn't free. Rhode Island is full of luxury homes built along the ocean with money from the slave trade. Those folks were every bit as involved in slavery being brought to America as were the plantation owners of the South yet YOU consider them heroes. Once again, DEFENDING your home is your right, and your duty. The vast majority of Confederate soldiers had NO slaves and made no money from slavery. They defended themselves like they should have. YOU are a flat-out coward for calling them traitors when they are long gone and not here to set you straight. Stick your stupidity up your arse.

The fact remains that all of those traits are close to 50% genetically determined. But please continue to keep your head in the sand about basic scientific facts.

I’ll give you a very simple real world example. The modern household dog was bred to be docile through many generations from the wolf. And it’s been demonstrated that aggression and violence can be bred back into dogs in just a few generations. How do you explain that if it’s not genetic?
