Eric is married to a white girl

They have every right to do whatever they want but to act oppressed is an understatement especially given these 2 individuals backgrounds

My opinion: national anthem is a time for all Americans to express unity ... Put aside your differences and show respect for your country and fellow Americans.
Kaepernick comes off as a racist by only fighting for "minorities" in police abuse. If you believe it to be a problem, why not for any/all Americans who may be abused.
Kaepernick also wants to make a stand against black oppression. Why not stand up for all oppressed people ... Including the Cubans he dissed.
That all being said, he has the 1st Amendment right to express his ignorance.

You seem painfully unaware that we get to criticize their actions too. They can do whatever they want under the first amendment, but it doesn't protect them from criticism.
Well said, this is what the left doesn't understand. It works both ways.

No, that isn't the point of America.
You can't be punished by the government, but that doesn't mean others can't voice their displeasure or disagreement

The Flag stands for Freedom and Democracy and the sacrifice of our Forfathers. He might not agree with issues in America, but those issues have nothing to do with the ultimate sacrifrice the men and women of all colors have given for them. Respect these individuals even if you dont agree with current American social issues and stand you fricking arse up and place your hand over your heart during the national anthem

I wonder what that sheriff from Milwaukie has to say about these fellers not standing for the national anthem because they are taking a stand for black lives matter.

I'm NOT on Kaep's side, but he never said he's doing this because he himself has been oppressed. Said he's doing this for minorities who are

He went at the NFL for not having some "rule" in place that they have to stand during the anthem.

I'm curious how this ends. Exactly when is the oppression over? How does he think change will be instituted or does he now never stand up. What is his definition of oppression and how is its cure manifested to the degree that he will deem satisfactory? Is only his personal definition of oppression the standard to which the rest of the nation must accede?
As I said, I am curious.

She most definitely isn't white. Light skinned black chick. But why would that matter? Disrespect is disrespect. Look at the pic of him and Kaep kneeling with the BLACK sailor standing right in front of them. It's disrespectful plain and simple. Eric and Kaep were up there in the very large % of black people in America that were never oppressed in their lives. And don't give me this "their ancestors were oppressed" mine were royalty in France. I ain't got shite from that. Damn near 40 years on this planet and this is by far the most pansy generation. It's all about attention instead of ACTION. Sitting during a song isn't helping anyone.

quote:There is everything wrong with not standing. Millions of Americans died defending this country that flag represents. Its very disrespectful to people that have lost love ones defending your freedom . You just as well spit in their face. Why do you think they have that right? Also you haven't seen me on the polli board.Do I like or respect your president? frick no. America needs unity right now not bullshite haters. That flag is what brings us together as Americans.
There's nothing wrong with not standing for the national anthem or not saluting the flag this isn't North Korea. The whole point of America is you can voice displeasure with the regime and not be persecuted for it. I see a lot of you over on the Poli board disparaging the president and many other high ranking officials. I bet y'all are glad you have your first amendment then.
