Do you tell the people who fly the Confederate flag that? Because it's the same thing. Actually, more so. The Confederacy was a direct enemy of the US and yet people still fly that flag. Is that not a direct insult to the flag, the Constitution and America as a whole?

I support and root for any former Tiger, as long as they're not playing against the Saints. If Drew Brees or any player for the Saints did some crap like this, I'm done until he's gone and would hope for an expedited departure. What is anyone going to change by doing this, other than alienate themselves, possibly their locker room and possibly their country. Play the game, God blessed you with the ability to play, and shut up with the political/social commentary. Kap should be thankful that he didn't live in the hood and was adopted. Reid by all accounts is a good dude and I get supporting a teammate, but damnit, if it's not ignorant. Ive got no respect for Kap or Reid at this point and to all the others that will ignorantly follow suit.

Is it thoughtless to not like someone intentionally using our national anthem as a negative protest? I think it's expected.

After all I said I wish my favorite sports channels would talk more about actual sports than non-stop coverage of this and tebow trying out for the MLB, especially when it's multiple experts saying the same thing.
Eta although i guess that's true of all major sports outlets all the time

Hey Magazine, Save the psycho-babble bullshite about perceptions and feelings for your latte' in the morning.....the Star Spangled Banner, aka your National Anthem, stands for the sacrifices made in the past by our brave military men and women so that you can have your latte' and prattle on about perceptions. The sacrifices were made for all Americans, regardless of the color of their skin. When this anthem and/or the American flag is shown disrespect by anyone, including football stars, those persons SHALL incur the wrath of any who understand the sacrifices made to give the short-sighted, ignorant disrespectors the very right to protest. Nothing at all to do with "perceptions".....it all has to do with merited respect! Reid and Kaepernick have failed to have the sense and/or understanding to grasp this and thus deserve the ire of any American worth a shite!! God Bless America!! Goodnight!

Man you would've hated Ali in his hay day. The are human beings before athletes, no one pays them to be emotionless robots that cannot express their opinions. The ignorance is saying that what he chose to do is ignorant. If we want to "come together" on this country fighting to understand each other is more important than dismissing a plea for help. Millions of people are saying the same thing, yet it's being dismissed as "ignorance".

Facts for example for the same exact crime blacks normally get a higher sentence than that of a white guy. You get pulled over and harassed for absolutely nothing. It's not even close buddy. More often than not when your colored that's facts. But most people down talk the topic because they have never experienced such hate. It's easy to say what should or shouldn't be done when you're on the outside looking in.

First off I'm a former Marine and work for the federal government. You are saying nothing about the anthem that I don't know. You like many cant see pass your own clouded mind. Understand why he said he's doing the action, I personally think he should do it another way, but he's not. While in the military I witnessed countless acts of disrespect for the fallen warriors of this country and flag from enlisted to civilian alike.
Secondly i don't like coffee, and I see you avoided the questions at the end of the post.

I'm with ya on the sentencing 100%.
But if you were a cop (any race), would you not be more on edge and demanding in while pulling a group of black kids over? Or going to a call in a impoverished neighborhood?
I think they absolutely treat blacks differently, but I also understand the reasoning behind it.

Clearly they have united the rant. Keep up the positive vibes Reid and Kaep.

As much as conservatives hate SJW they turned into SJWs real quick over an athlete not standing during a song.

Leave these guys alone and let them protest.
I don't want to see players in February with Grambling, Southern and Alcorn hats on a table taking their talents to the swac.
I love Jacob Hester but he is no Leonard Fournette.
If they want to protest fine. If change is needed things will change.
If all the top Louisiana players start choosing Southern instead of LSU then what?

This is the speech(ironically, I know) that I have a problem with(though, again, I will fight to the death for your right to have it). The speech that seems like thinly veiled threats of violence. He is free to be a dumbass. You are free to respond to his dumbass like a dumbass. I am free to to call your dumbass a dumbass. What we are not free to do, however, is perpetrate violence against each other for our dumbassery. And some in here seem all too willing to cross that line.

I totally agree with this. But what can they do except cut him and pay him the rest of his guaranteed money? shite, he's probably their best QB. Fine him? He makes millions, what can they legally(according to the CBA) fine him that would make a dent?

I'm black as a preteen I experienced the first of many times. I was simply walking home broad daylight basketball apparel with a basketball in hand. White cop pulls in front of me and says "hey boy where are you headed". My remake "home sir". Cop "oh your a smart arse huh?" While getting out of his vehicle. Cop says "get your black arse over here" while slamming me face first into his cruiser. Is this right? This happens very often. Not saying that everyone is innocnet. But my taxes pay for cops to protect and serve me. Not beat my arse because you feel like it and get away with it unpunished. That's one of the many things Kap is talking about.
