I understand and appreciate protest I don't understand disrespect for two sacred things Our Flag and our National Anthem.

I said this in another thread on the same topic. Symbols are powerful and important. But careful you don't idolize them and hold them higher than the ideas they represent.

This is what intelligent people don't understand. Why is it that when a black person is killed by a cop, it is considered unjust and requires a political movement, but when way more innocent blacks are killed by other blacks, it is not considered unjust? Or is it just considered Tuesday?

You're right it is. But when it grants a mush head millions of dollars you'd expect some appreciation

the reason you are even on this board is because of Eric Reid. At least what he does as a profession...

ETA why does his salary have anything to do with him keeping quiet?

When people choose not to buy tickets to football games, maybe the foolish youths will understand that they are shiiiitting in their own nest..and that of those that follow them...hide and watch...the world is changing very rapidly now, and mostly not for the good of any of us...be careful what you wish for!!!!!!!! You may get it!!!!!!

Eric Reid joined Kaep Reid is now dead to me. He has committed an almost unpardonable act. I suppose if he made a public apology for his mistake, I could forgive him. Until then, he can rot for all I care. It just goes to show how one mistake can eradicate a lifetime of goodwill. Never really cared for the 49ers, but now will pull for their annihilation week in and week out. God Bless America!!!

Who the frick are you that Eric Reid should apologize to you?

frick, this thread has jumped the shark. Deuces.

Intelligent people would understand that what is being discussed is two separate problems and the presence of either one does not diminish the other.

I always wondered how the media chooses which shooting of blacks by police to prop up. There are a couple hundred to choose from but they pick out two or three a year.

You're are entitled to your opinion. My country, it's flag and the people that serve far override any LSU athlete. Poor decision by him.

Eric feels that he is disrespected by his country

The national anthem is basically representative of our form of government, the constitution, and the men and woman who have served to preserve the freedoms that Reid and Kaepernick are demanding.

They are fricking protesting the very institution that offers them the opportunity to have what they want.

If they have a problem with a certain police department, they should protest that. Instead, they are protesting the country as a whole. It's ridiculously stupid and it's deserving of all of the criticism it has received.

I will loudly boo Reid if he's ever announced at an LSU football game. He's not a Tiger.
