People, there is an agenda. That is not a coincidence.
I think a lot of the bama love has to do with Saban though.
Eta: it proves eze's point completely. How did they not know lsu was representing the west for the seccg?
So either they are retarded, or they did know and printed it anyways.

So. . . is 'Bama's opponent for the SECCG Georgia or LSU?

THanks Doc. Just saw that on SI too.
No agenda, eh? What a joke that is.
Bama and the other entitled teams clearly play on a different playing field than everyone else.
Lose the game of the century? It's OK. You can sit at home while your opponent plays an extra game....then you get a re-match!
Like I said, I think Bama is #2, don't get me wrong. But if, say, Arkansas was in Bama's place right now, Arkansas would be going to the Sugar Bowl, no questions asked.

I was once on a tour of ESPN and I accidentally walked into a room where a meeting of strange old white guys smoking cigars, laughing and discussing what teams to promote and hype vs who to keep down and make life hard for. Guess who was on Top of the list on the chalk board, LSU!!!!

You're dealing with forces of nature.
Human nature in this case.
Just about everything you point out has merit. Anyone laughing it off is kidding themselves.
The truth is, however, who wouldn't want the opportunity to see LSU '03 vs. USC '03? Such an opportunity exists this season.
I don't like the fact that LSU had to travel to Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama, for the right to go to Atlanta and beat Georgia, while Bama waits and watches. But, maybe this too, will improve the system, eventually.
And there's a strong chance this will happen, so I am going to start to embrace it, and take it for what's it's worth. What 2 better teams are there to play this game. No wondering what would have happened. If we win, Alabama and Saban resign themselves to the fact that they are our Georgia of '03. If we lose, we have a strong case to share bragging rights.
Speaking of Georgia '03, anybody remember how set in their place they were after that SECCG?
We have that same opportunity here.

Great post. As ugly as this all is, I think you are correct on all counts, EZE.
The only thing we can really impact is winning out. That's the only way to make make this circle jerk wane, at least for awhile. A Bama loss in the NCG will likely be explained away with lame excuses.

OP right on!
Ummm...if we were to lose to nana there would be no sharing. Sharing has not been allowed ever since they formed the bcs.
Oh and who is best or second best doesn't matter. If all but 11 LSU players go to jail after beating Georgia LSU will still go even though they would no longer be the best. It is about what a team has earned, not who is best. Best doesn't matter.

I'm going to do some digging and provide some articles from 2003 and 2011 detailing this hypocricy today when I have time.

Yes. WE DO. BAMA Doesn't. That's BS.
Different playing field for the entitled/media darling.

Sorry, but this will NEVER change. There will always be schools like Bama who play by different rules. It will happen again next year if a school like USC is in the hunt.

Of course! Entitled/media darlings never "lose". Like LSUChicageaux said, they just "un-win".

Except now, the media can blame their frickery on the BCS system.

Someone would have to blind, deaf and dumb to not see it. There is an end i mind and the media will do everything it can to get there.

So, if GA wins the game Saturday.
Would you suggest an OU/Oregon/GA game for the championship. Provided OU wins of course.

That's what gets me pissed the most.
THEY lobbied to give themselves more power in the BCS after their precious LA market was "screwed" in 2003. Now, they have this power, and they place the blame on something/someone else. They are politicians in the worst way now.
Like I said, the BCS was created to help the other 100+ schools that were suffering from the bias for decades. Now we are back to this again.
LSUMatt, if you read this, what would the 2003 BCS formula do to the 2011 standings? Would OSU be in second place today, or would Bama's strong AP bias as #2 keep them #2 in that old formula?
Posted on 11/28/11 at 8:56 am to EZE Tiger Fan
Do you feel Bama is better than OSU?
Posted on 11/28/11 at 9:00 am to tigerfoot
OSU has MORE quality wins than Bama....FACT.
