It truly is unreal how stubborn and stuck Les Miles was. The rant has been right for years and it's all coming out in the light.
I believe the realitigers are owed an apology by the former-pumpers (current negatigers). We've been saying this shite for years and have been bashed that the coaching staff knew what was best. Clearly, they did not.

There are two parts to success as I see it regarding personnel in CFB. First, you recruit players who for your preferred schemes and philosophies. Then, you tweak your schemes to fit what you players do well. Maybe you see these tweaks are working well and this causes your scheme to change a little. You go recruit players for this slightly modified scheme; lather, rinse, repeat.
The two halves of the cycle feed each other. Miles and Cam seemed to be able to recruit well, although you might legitimately question whether they recruited to their philosophy/scheme as well as they could. They seemed to have no idea how to change get tho gs based on the strengths of their players. Weird how successful they managed to be in spite of this pretty obvious shortcoming.

They did know best... it was just that Miles was interfering with that (on offense). If the Mizzou game is any indication of what the rest of this season holds for us, it shows that the rest of the staff has been chomping at the bit for years to run a competent offense. We have great players and competent coaches on staff.
Playcalling. Tempo. Getting safeties and LBs to back out of the box before you turn up your run game. Short passes. Slants. Throws to the middle/using the whole field. Adjustments. Playing to our strengths and personnel, and vs the other teams weaknesses. That game was like a cfb common sense all you can eat 5* buffet for fans that had been in Miles bread and water solitary confinement for 10 years.

Thank God Miles is gone. Please don't ever let him come back. He just doesn't fit.
