you can't have a vicious competitor like him that don't have an edge. Ronnie Lott was one of the few that was ferocious, yet mostly stayed humble... but on the field... I bet he talked it up... Mike Singeltary... we can make a good long list of playas that talked up a storm... I understand there is a limit, but that's the kind of guys I want on my defense. You'll eat your words occasionally, but you'll feed them to the opponent often enough to balance it out.

Good example. I suppose the tiger roars loudest just before he eats?

FWIW:

quote:

“We’re going to run by you all day,” LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne said he heard the Volunteers saying. “Somebody better make a play.”

quote:

“They were talking a little noise, so we called it up as a defense and said they weren’t going to get a play like that against us again,” LSU safety Eric Reid said. “They wanted to put a knife in our defense. They tried to go for the deep ball, but Mo was able to pick it off.”

LINK

So you can see LSU is not the only team who "Trash Talks" it is just part of the game now.

Yup, Tyran is good enough to let his play speak for itself.... no need to give the other side motivation.. like predicting #81 would get no catches... then he beats you on a couple plays, makes one look stupid for saying he would be shutdown and he wasnt... dumb statement anyway, its dam near impossible to totally shutdown a go to reciever for a whole game..

eh, no he didn't hold rogers to no catches, but outside one long completion in the 1s quarter, he was shut down pretty well the entire game. iirc outside that one long catch, he had 2 receptions for around 20 yards. but i agree, in part, but we still won 38-7 so who cares

Any nerds in here that can assess how much energy is wasted by 'between-plays-celebrating' ???

I remember when Warren Sapp was doing the "Running Man" after his tackles for loss against Nebraska in the Orange Bowl. Nebraska then begins to run at will in the 4th quarter.

Just a question. Also not suggesting that Mathieu is break dancing, either....but talking a lot.

I also remember pledging in a frat and being pretty tired after yelling for an hour in a line-up, too.

what did the guy have 3 catches for 40 yards? Something like that, Im havent watched the replay but the long one he made couldve def been offensive PI as he completely threw him outta the way to catch the ball, however it may have been within 5 yards, either way i thought he covered their best reciever pretty well

It seems that TM7 has a proximity trash talk activator. If an opposing player is within a certain distance from him...he simply HAS to jaw at them.

Too me it gets a little old...and would like to see him pick his spots to trash talk other than when any opposing player is kinda close to him.

But as long as he performs its hard to complain too much.

Agreed! It's amazing how people can sit behind their computers, and criticize. Now if a teenager who plays this violent game show emotion he's a THUG. I bet if TM7 stop producing and shut up than you'll be screaming for him to play his game. This is football people not swimming, I particularly love his and the entire team swag. I bet some of you complaining are the same ones screaming suck that tiger d***, while waving your hands jamming to neck! That's the persona of our intimidating defense. It's not your papa's era. Embrace thisoremarkable season so far, were back TIGER NATION! The way it supposed to be. Look at it this way, Alabama defense is great but we have the fastest, most intimidating defense in the country
