Tree Dog u are so right,I suffered through many tough years but stuck with my Tigers. Kids today, many that never played the game are so spoiled they mostly leave the game several times in the 3rd. quarter But still call themselves football fans.

Yeah, a bunch of grammarians on the rant note spelling errors, but rarely does anyone note a dangling participial phrase or a needed possessive adjective to modify a gerund.

If one decides to develop multiple soliloquies to convey his opinions, then proper care should be taken of the audience.

If you are just shooting the shite on the rant than let it fly.

I was just curious if he was getting auto-"in"corrected at an unreasonable rate on a mobile device.

It's an abomination how little credit DiNardo gets on here, IMO generally from the younger fans who have no concept of what it was like before he came and started the uptick or from ignorant older fans.

yea, dinardo really did start the comeback. if he had not been so hard headed and fired lou tepper he might have had a much longer tenure here. lou tepper was the worst DC i have ever seen at any level of football.

If had not started micro managing his Offense and Defense Coordinators, prompting them to leave, he would have never even had a reason to hire Tepper............I know Morris Watts was the OC then, but can't remember the DC?? They were both doing a very good job for Dinardo..........

Mannings would never come here ever no matter how good we were they are not LSU fans

I asked Peyton when he was a senior at Newman, Archie and Coop were there and I practically was laughed out of their house

Truth seems to be that the tragic death of Bo Rein set LSU back about twenty years. There was a lack of leadership with vision enough to replace what would have been an outstanding young coach. For years LSU hired one unprepared/unproven coach after another.Gerry D was better than I expected him to be, and was probably the best we could have hoped for given the state of the program. But Archer and Hallman were, in my opinion, among the worst hires in the history of Division 1 football. Neither of them had people skills, or were able to recruit worth beans. Their football acumen was that of a decent, though unspectacular assistant coach.

Great post until this.

Saban is not exactly in a bad situation, but you know deep in his psyche he is still not at rest about leaving, no matter what he or any Bammer says.

Let it go, bro.

You know Daddy wasn't going to allow that.

On the original post - With Watts and Reese as coordinators, DiNardo had something going on for sure. Then we had the "Tepper Experience" and it all broke down.

I give Gerry credit for making the first step at closing the border and refocuing recruits attention back on LSU. Especially when you think back to the flash of some of the programs (Florida State, Notre Dame, Miami) that were raiding Louisiana in the 80s and early 90s. Hell, even Colorado was picking up talent back then.

DiNardo started it, Saban capitalized on it and Miles has continued to step it up.

The non-LSU fan will tell you that our football program didn't exist until Nick Saban came along and birthed it from his golden vagina. But I'm over 40 and know this to be bullshite.

I'd agree TreeDawg. 95 Indy Bowl was the jumping off point for LSU's return.

LSU was a "sleeping giant"
there's 2 parts to awakening the giant: closing the borders, then looking outside the borders. i remember saban specifically talking about this, that the "all we have to do is keep the Louisiana kids and we'll have a national title team" was flawed. yes, we have great talent here, but where we've taken the leap forward is keeping the homegrown guys, but cherry-picking from elsewhere. someone else listed all the dudes from elsewhere, and it really drives home the point.

great times to be a tiger fan!

What if Saban comes in this year and takes the No. 1 and No. 3 player from Les to Alabama. What does that say?
