You have to understand that this is the natural progression of a website. It's like any place on earth. After a while, you have a bunch of people who think they are better than everyone else and they rule this place (in this case, mostly those with a lot of posts).
It's a struggle at times to weed through the bullshite, but it can be done. And you are correct, you better not screw something up or someone will make themselves feel better or seek approval from others by putting you down. That comes from a lack of self esteem and a Napoleon complex.
