Paul probably brought Kaminer in case we needed another LH bat on Friday night.

Hate to tell you some good ones would be on the fence to leave if Vitello got it.
We talking guys who maybe didn’t like their experience at Tenn this year?

I'm guessing he's a prick. I think he rubbed Paul and the team the wrong way in Knoxville this year.

Next coach is going to love Drew

When he was playing especially terrible I brought up the possibility of hiring mike to get Drew off the roster.

I WASN’T SERIOUS

His players will run through walls for him. He fights for them and says frick the rest. As an opponent, that can seem disrespectful. As his player, you want no one else.

ETA: he’s more like Skip from a mental toughness standpoint. Think of Skip telling his team that the number one team in the country (A&M) has a dog shite pitcher that was hugely overrated and they were going to win two games because they suck and couldn’t overcome a game 1 loss.

I get it. He'd have to win them over, though. He may be too proud to even try to do that.

That’s what I was going to say. From the outside he seems like a douche but within the program the players seem to absolutely love him

Hes not too proud to keep good players and win games. Trust me.

Agreed. Now imagine that story getting to the A&M team, then A&M considering to hire Skip months later. You don't think some of the players would be like "Nah, frick that guy."

I misspoke on weekend starter at Notre Dame. Kolhepp is their top reliever and has thrown starter type innings but has only started one game.

Chase Silseth is a weekend starter for Arizona.

Austin Knight is the third baseman and I think CPOY at Charlotte.

Our guys transfer out and can’t play at the jucos they go to.

Fast forward 10 years and think of it… but they wish they had Skip.

You don't have to convince me. I'll be here. You have to convince the dudes that he pissed off and won't be here in a few years regardless.

I think you should start coming to grips with Vitello not being the guy seems to have too many detractors up top.

I’d lean towards him being the shot of adrenaline Paul’s stagnant arse program needs. Oh some guys on a roster that barely made a regional would leave because they got their feelings hurt after getting swept in Tennessee? Darn

Except you don’t. You have to convince the AD that the feelings of a few players who are gone after a few years and the feelings of the outgoing coach don’t supersede the right thing for the program. It’s a 15-20 year position for the right guy.

Don’t forget that players and their parents go on visits to other schools and have met other coaches.
