Give the guy a break..he lives in Brookhaven where there are no bars...it's a haven for boredom and rednecks.

He is right about the bathroom trips. That is a bitch.

I agree with the premise although my light buzz is more of a heavy buzz. I agree that getting shite faced takes away from the enjoyment of the game. If you like getting shitfaced just to be faced, that is a whole different set of problems.

can't we all just get drunk and get along?

Plenty of rednecks not so many bars. Having moved here after growing up and living in Louisiana for 20 years leaves much to be desired.

Spoon. Don't feel bad. Lots of damn good people in Brookhaven. You don't need bar. Been going down there for years now and never needed a bar to drink lots of beer with good people on the back porch. Just don't cruise the Blvd after doing so...

I went to Ann Arbor last year for our game and through the efforts of a major brain cramp we really had no beer to drink...It turned out great I guess (not just the game) because I was in one of the great arenas AND I remembered the game. I intend to stay pretty much in control in BR too so I will remember being at one of the all time great atmospheres in sports. I have been to plenty of games hammered and faced many of the things that P.S. is speaking of. Of course I am also much older now..

I agree with Purple Spoon, but i'd like to turn this around a bit. It's not as much what the alcohol does to your own bladder and senses and more to do with how you act towards other people when you are "out of your mind". Most people have no idea "how they acted" when wasted in public. Just like the responders to this thread, most inconsiderate, a-hole drunks don't understand how they affect the people around them. You know, constantly yelling loud as frick "hey why is RP in on special teams?", "why do we always run the ball on first down",(after passing on the previous three first downs), generally being an arse at all turns. Yeah, that's what football is all about, and fun for the guy who stopped drinking an hour and a half before kickoff.
PS. This is coming from a guy who has been held out of an LSU game for being "too drunk" and does drink before a game.

people who drink way too much on game day dont really care about LSU football. they just want to be seen out there and have a good time. if we have a good season they call themselves LSU fans. 15 years ago they drank at home instead though.

is cant be the ncaa, because i have been to UConn games and they sell beer until the fourth quarter
Posted on 8/22/08 at 4:07 pm to DzNtz
never been to uconn, but the ncaa rule is if the stadium is off campus then they can sell alcohol

Unless you have on MC hammer pants you cannot get enough in the stadium to last so you run out around the half and get that shitty sobering up headache by the 4th.

I don't think the NCAA has anything to do with it. It is up to the schools last I heard, and most don't allow it.
