Well according to the posts here, I'd love to have him back as a LB next year, since that's what he's going to be...
According to posts here? Try almost every major analyst that covers the draft... You act like every player is always drafted to play the exact position they did at the college level...

agree, high 4.5 or low 4.6 IMO
This is a lot more reasonable, IMO.
I could see Mingo slipping a good bit in the draft. I've been wrong before, but I'd bet on him being in the 20s before I bet on him being top 10.

Yes, he is not NFL ready. Put your fan thinking aside andbe reasonable. He needs another year to be an early pick. Late second at very best.

All 100% correct. He is extremely raw. He will benchride for a few years in the NFL while coaches attempt to develop him.. A project.

So every mock draft or draft rankings are done by LSU homers?

Don't get pissy. I'm not "acting like" anything. Just saying if everyone knows he's going to be an LB, come back and play LB, since DE didn't really pan out. And by pan out, I mean 2nd string Lavar Edwards played better. After all, covering NFL tight ends with no coverage experience doesn't sound easy to me.

Dude.
This very article which was saying he is slipping also said he is a first round talent.

Sounds like you don't know the difference between and LB in a 4-3(which LSU runs) vs. an outside LB in a 3-4 which will be Mingo's best fit.

Mingo has great straight line speed, but has trouble breaking down and moving lateral. He is a great kid and teammate, but will struggle at the combine in the LB drills.

Might be true, I thought it was just packing on 30 Lbs and telling him to run at the QB every single play no matter what.

I live in the bay area and stuck watching a bunch of 49er football. Mingo, if uses the same as mostly as a stand-up pass rusher, could come in and look a lot like Aldon Smith.
I'm not saying he would have the same success, but they are similar body type/style. Again, the right fit for him as a pass rusher in a 3-4 might turn out to be a good fit for Mingo. Best of luck to him.

4.5 or 4.6 is realistic

The ultimate problem with Mingo is he tries to bullrush way too much, he doesn't use his speed. The only sacks he get is when the QB sits in the pocket too long and he gets off a block. He just needs some better coaching IMO and he will be a great player in the NFL!

Facts is facts. Another year of college under his belt and Mingo will be Beast Mode going into the NFL.
Right now? Great potential, but lot of unknowns, especially against NFL-caliber talent/size and speed.

You're right...4.5 is far more realistic than 4.49.

He may be raw, but you don't take a pass rusher in the first round to benchride for a few years.
Correct..especially considering the money a first rounder(which is what most on this board think he is) would demand.

Edwards seemed more productive than either starter this year. Of course, offenses may not have played him the same as Sam and Keke. Losing all 3 of those guys at once sucks.
