How exactly does that work? I thought it was either MLB or 3 years of college?

I’ve heard this term used a lot lately on multiple pod cast for guys like Gavin Guidry?

It depends on if they are 21 before the draft in the sophomore yr I believe.

If a player turns 21 before the MLB draft, he is eligible.

It’s not three years of college. It’s go pro out of HS or you have to turn 21 before a certain date which for most people means they have to do 3 years but there are a few that meet the age requirement after 2 years of college.

Grant Taylor is a draft eligible soph
Javen Coleman was as well but the injury nixed that
Not sure about the newcomers

You have to be 21 within certain amount of time to the draft
It actually changed because they moved the draft from early June to around all star break in July which seems to be where it will stay going forward

It’s definitely an either/or situation when it comes to the three year requirement or the age of 21 if the player is at a 4 year school.

Like others have mentioned, this is not correct. It is 3 years or 21. Guidry and Kling are both 19 years old already and will be draft eligible sophomores. You look at someone like Neal who is young and he will be 20 art the time of his 3rd year draft time. He will be eligible even though he isn't 21 because he played in college for 3 yerars.

I’d say more than a few. Any kid held back for sports when they were young would most likely be draft eligible as a sophomore. I think Guidry, Jared Jones, and Paxton Kling will all be draft eligible sophomores.

These 3 are correct. I forgot about Jones.

It’s 21 by the day of the draft for anyone that is not 3 years removed from high school.

This is the rules for a 4 year university. It’s different for JUCO.
