Keiland.

But seriously - hard choice. Wouldn't be really comfortable with either of them but I think I'd go with JJ just to eliminate the liklihood that we'd be down 17 with a flick of the wrist from our QB.

My thought process is exactly the opposite of yours. Yes, Lee may make a mistake and cause a larger loss. Then again, he may lead the team to an amazing comeback. At least he gives you a chance.

When the pressure's on, JJ seems to become petrified, almost guaranteeing you of continuing to lose.

A loss is a loss, so if Lee's mistake makes it worse, big deal. I'd still rather go in knowing I have a chance.

Yer mileage may vary of course. But I think JJ has been involved in a comeback against Gawja. And has been involved in winning close games so I wouldn't go so far as to say he gives no chance of a comeback. Or even that he gives less of a chance than Lee.

Note - I don't have a problem with Lee playing. I just tried to answer the question as honestly as possible. I'm not one of those posters (and they have them on both sides of this argument) that feels the need to tear down one QB to boost up another. I will say that this was a closer question for me than the leading by 10 or tied with 10 mins left ones.

No he wasnt

Ga penalty + kickoff return + Scott MVP rush - JJ phone call to Crowton = winning TD

We obviously have different definitions of the term "involved in". To me, involved in includes a player who was quarterback for the game winning drive and who suggesting the play for the go ahead touchdown.

To follow the train of the discussion - someone posted that JJ would be inappropriate for a comeback situation and I said he has been involved in just such a situation. I stand by that. If LSU couldn't mount a comeback with JJ as QB they wouldn't have done it in Athens.

Then again, there are several uses of words and phrases on the board tonight that are different than what I considere the accepted usages. Someone was using the phrase "thrown under the bus" to mean that a QB was given appropriate playing time. I always understood and still understand that phrase to be that the blame was shuffled off on someone.

Scott had rushed for 0, 2, 3, and 2 yds on the previous series. There is no way in the world that anyone will believe JJ knew he would break it for 33 yards. JJ was scared, didnt want to lose the game, and was hoping the FG kicker would be the hero or goat.

None of which changes the original statement that LSU can mount comebacks against SEC teams with him as QB. Look, dude, if you wanna tear down JJ for whatever reasons, go to it. I stand by my orignal opinion that, although it's a close call in a 10 points down game, I'd choose JJ if I had to make the choice.
