Doug Moreau statement about this team in the post game show

In the post game show I heard Doug Moreau say (paraphrase) "This Tiger team has the most overall talent of any Tiger team in history." Maybe someone else heard what he said and I just heard it wrong.
Pretty strong statement. I know he was talking about team depth and he wasn't saying that if you compared starter to starter from this team to, say, the NC teams, that this team is better. Still, I question that this team has more overall talent this season than any LSU team in history.

It certainly looks like it does, but then again, looks can be deceiving after only 2 games.

Don't question--BELIEVE!!!!

This team is better than 07. Coaching and talent wise.
This is my opinion after two games so...Flame away.

This can be a pretty special year for us. It's going to be a fun ride because we have a reeally good team this year.

Agree ---- let's check back around November 6th and see how we look.
We're still undefeated on Nov. 6 I AGREE 100% -- best LSU team ever would not be inappropriate.

03 lost to Florida. 9 times out of 10 they win
07 loss to Kentucky and Arkansas. Should have gone undefeated.
2011.....who's to say? I think we're missing a Clayton, or a Dorsey, but it is just as important to catch the SEC when we are peaking and they are rebuilding....We have senior QB's and the rest of the league does not.
It is one of the top ten teams we have ever fielded and that says a lot.

Not to look past this year or anything, but have any of you stopped to look at the team we're going to have next year? Hooooly sheeet

We could be the most talented team in LSU history and still not win the NC because we are not nearly as experienced. Talent doesn't always equal championships

Depth wise and talent wise: I would have to agree.
Agreed; See above.

2006 disagrees.
+1. Four first round draft picks.
But leadership is what wins big games and '07 had more leaders like Hester.

2006 was the most physical team for sure
Posted on 9/11/11 at 8:37 pm to NorthTiger
that may be true in terms of young, raw talent, but let's see it get fully developed...like that 2006 squad with all those first rounders.
next year's squad, however...wow.

Cool. When was the last time they said it? I'd like to hear it again. Got a link for us?

We were thinking this 4 years ago when we opened 45-0 vs MSU and thrashed VT. Put yourself in 2007 2 games in. shite happens.

Playing Devil's Advocate - if this LSU team has more depth than any LSU team in history, what does that say about the 2011 Oklahoma and Alabama teams? Is the answer depth does not necessarily equal wins?

no doubt the team is flat loaded with talent....however, to say this early in the season that this is absolutely the most talented team in the history of LSU is just sensationalistic chatter...
