It's just terrible logic. Like a coach who consistently goes 10-2 is somehow inherently incapable of going 11-1 or 12-0. That's actually how you win championships--consistently field very good teams and every couple years or so all the stars will align, you'll have the right group of guys and do something special.
That's crazy. Whoever heard of such a thing.
Sincerely,
Mack Brown

Proejo....
That's really creative...
..did you think of that all by yourself?
..or did your sister help you??

Being a 10-2 team isn't bad if you don't mind waiting for Bama to have an off year to win the west. Being 8-3 or 9-2 got Coach Mac fired because being good wasn't enough to beat Bama. 9-3 or 10-2 will get Miles fired as well because being the 3rd best team in the SEC won't win an SECCG without some miracles, much less an MNC.

I think the rub is that he is paid with the elite coaches in the league and the country, and don't want to get what is considered above average coaching/results, i.e. Mark Richt, Jim Tressel. Throw in Nick having Bama in the hunt just into his 3rd year and paranoia has set in.

This is the truth...Miles will suffer the same fate as Cholly Mac

We only lose 1 next year. We are going to bitch slap some people, after finishing 11-2 this season.
Keeping the optimism.

Nick Saban: In his 7 full seasons in the SEC, he has lost less than 2 games in a season once
Just for the sake of accuracy
2003 he was 7-1, 8-1 with the SEC CG in the SEC, in 2008 he was 8-0, 8-1.
You do however make an great point.
The fear I have is not going 10-2 every year, but that 10-2 becomes the ceiling.

Saban averaged three losses during his tenure. If Miles averages two, that is an improvement.

Selective memory. Mac was not always either 8-3 or 9-2 his entire career. Especially in SEC games where he had a few 3 loss or 2 loss/1 tie seasons.
I will take 10-2 every year with a few 11-1 and one undefeated season thrown in for Miles' career.

he was here for 5 years and took over a team coming off 2 losing seasons, not one a year removed from a NC and LOADED with talent

So under Miles, if you finish 10-2, you will go to the SEC Championship 50%
that's nice and all, but it was not ans will not always be that way.
We had back-to-back 2 loses SEC seasons in 96-97 and ZERO SEC CG appearances.

Wait till the season is over and see how many teams in the NCAA Division 1A teams have two losses or better. Probably less than 2%. So if LSU is one of them and lost only to the top two teams in the nation what the hell is wrong with that. We have a damn good team and will be even better next year. Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, being 8-3 or 9-2 didn't get Mac fired. His last seven seasons at LSU were:
7-5
8-4
8-4
7-3-1
5-6
5-5-1
That's what got him fired.

awesome, as long as every 4 year stretch is exactly like 2005-2008 we'll be set

Miles will have to beat Saban at least half the time to get people off his arse regardless of 10 and 2
