You’re going to try to squeeze with 2 outs and a force out at home? Do you know what a suicide squeeze is?

We had 2.

I haven’t seen where Travinski is much better catching than Doughty. Wyeth some but Doughty no.

We have one catcher who can’t hit much and the others who are mediocre at best and can’t hit a whole lot better.

We have signed catcher after catcher without much success.Reslly bad recruiting at that position.

I think it was a legitimate idea. And CPM may have thought about it. I know I did. As most have said, we would take out our best catching option. Although he did have 2 catchers interference calls that really hurt. There is no way CPM (or anybody else) could foresee that happening. I also would ask who would you actually use to PH? There was a lefty on the mound, so it’s not Beloso. Not saying it was a good or bad decision, but give us the name of the PH.

BTW, Milazzo did make solid contact & pitcher made a nice play. I don’t know if the ball gets through, but he did put it in play, it just did not find a hole.

He’s hitting 13 points higher in sec play than Milazzo .167 vs .154

Not exactly a ton (or any) real pinch hit options on the bench.

Not many good options.
But Arnold does have some power.
Our lineup is weak at the bottom and so is our bench.

even with two outs. Sadly I think there’s a higher percentage the play works than Milazzo getting a hit.

Millazzo is the best defensive catcher i can remember at LSU. It's not often that good catcher that can hit make it to college.

You think Milazzo has a higher percentage chance at getting a bunt single? I mean, excusing the hyperbole, the statement is still ridiculous

We’ve had good defensive catchers before. Millazzo bat is so weak that he really needs to be replaced by a better hitter in key spots late. Unfortunately our bench isn’t what it should be but sending a guy up down one late with the bases loaded batting 167 overall is a low percentage play. We needed two runs to win. We had two in scoring position. We needed offense not defense.
