He has a solid future at LSU, but we need to bring in an experienced guy to compete with Nuss & be a solid backup if needed.

Inside sauce tells me that Hurley is aware he'll likely sit next year and take the reins in 2025.

Hard to picture a guy not old enough to buy a pack of smokes to be the starting QB or competing for it at such a young age.

I'm pretty sure the smoking age is 21 now, so most of our guys can't...and shouldn't lol

I don't expect Hurley will ever start a game for LSU. Nice kid but he's short, can't run, and has a low completion percentage. Other than that he sounds great!

Would be thrilled to eat crow if he leads us to a Natty or picks up Heisman #4, I just don't see it.

ETA: I also wanted to bench JD after the FSU game, so WTF do I know.

He struggled this year. Underwood would take that starting spot pretty quick

Will never take a meaningful snap and probably no snaps at all due to his age.

Is he even???

He feels like the reverse Danny Almonte

He’s could be our dude, but it might take some years to develop. Love him though

Never too young to understand what a disgusting habit smoking is.

Did not watch a second of his 2023 tape, but I heard he had a pretty awful senior year. hope that's not true or that he turned it around late.

He makes some big time throws but isn’t efficient

He has a great work ethic but his numbers - 55% completion and net 7 positive yards rushing for a career are not good signs for a college QB and athleticism. His accuracy did not improve in HS from one season to the next either which is odd.

He’s not tall and not athletic. Myles Brennan had over 1k yards rushing for his High School career. This guy had a total of 7. You can’t find a successful college QB who had less rushing yards than Hurley in HS.

I won’t hold my breath on him being a future successful starter, but I hope I am wrong.

I totally agree. We need a veteran to come in and challenge Nuss and may the best man win. Either way it goes, I think we need to go ahead and accept that the QB position will not be anywhere near Daniels level.

The more I reflect on everything Daniels accomplished, I feel confident is saying we may have just watched the greatest dual QB in college football history and there may never be another one like him.

We were treated to something special this season and most of us didn't realize it until it was all over. How many programs can stake claim to having one of the best pure passers ever in college football in Burrow and also the best dual QB of all-time in the span of five years!

Regardless of who takes the reins, they have some big shoes to fill!
