Well have you heard there are also some other LSU players at the QB position out there in bench-land?

Yep. But, Rivers was third string and I was replying to why you don't pull his scholly. I mean, you'd have pulled his scholly this year?

As for next year, it may well be that a 3rd year kid will be considered a more viable 3rd stringer than a true freshman(assuming he's only 3rd string). That's why you don't just dump a scholly because a kid may not rise to start.

Sheesh. Our roster right now has seniors that have never started, seen exceedingly limited playing time at their position, or only played special teams.

Not at practice so I don't see him practice. So is there something missing from his game. Nothing against Jennings at all but is there an open competition on the spring with Jennings, Rivers and Rettig?

No , once Les Miles has a opinion of you, your screwed. Ask Jarrett Lee.... I feel bad for Rivers & Rettig.

That's one thing I Really dislike about Les , He doesn't play the backup in Real Games. (Forget handing the ball of to a RB) with 1:24 left in the 4th quarter. Look at Jennings, coming in the game against Arkansas (pea green).. Just gotta have a prepared backup.
Thank goodness we were playing a Bad team in Arkansas ..

I suspect Rettig's knee played a role in determining who got red shirted. Not saying he will be better than AJ. I think AJ may well end up very good. Just an observation regarding the two.

After watching Jennings in the bowl game, any QB on the roster has a shot at starting. I'm putting my money on Rettig

Don't go to Vegas and make that bet.. Once Les chooses a favorite , that's pretty much it. He never changes his stubborn mind.

Les was embarassed on 1/9/11. He has lost 3 a year since. If AJ doesn't deliver his arse will be yanked with the quickness.

See Jarrett Lee vs Tenn & Fla in 2010. JJ wasn't going to cost Miles his precious 10 win season

I think it is going to come down to Rivers or Jennings. Probably not Harris due to him being a true freshman. I don't see Bolden or Retig passing up those three.

I don't see why you can't see Rettig earning the job. He's the most Mett like QB on the roster and we all saw how the offense looked with Mett at the helm

What do you know about Rettig that leads you to believe that?
I get Bolden.
He's 30.
But HR just started.

Is he faster?
Is his arm strength that of the other qbs?
Last I checked Mett's eligibility is up.

I'll answer this.
It's bc they don't want to see it.
Already picked their favorite.
Just like with JJ and JLee.

Always amusing to see fans believe coaches try to put their best 10 offense on the field but their *favorite* QB. Get a clue people.

You have also not seen Bolden or Rettig period.

It's not that crazy to say Rettig will be our guy. This place was stoked about getting him, and now people have completely blown him off.
