For real. I hate Alabama, but I love seeing Trent Richardson run over those poor suckers on other teams. I can see reasons for Rueben not breaking out yet, but not Shep. It's just pitiful.

all those recruits watched Shep ride the pine. You think they are going to come here now?

I'm surprised it hasn't hurt us yet. Watch Lache Seastrunk come here, only to ride the bench while Murphy gets 3 yards on toss sweeps every other play.

You are so right about the redshirt on Shepard. If you are not going to play him then why burn the red shirt! It is so stupid!

I think Shepard could be another Pat White. Unfortuantely, our coach and offensive coordinator don't have a clue as to how to use him. Damn shame. The kid is a QB. We recruited him as a QB. Yet we won't play him one snap in a game and don't even give him a chance to throw the ball! News flash to Les and Gary: the offense sucks. What do you have to lose. Unbelievable!

The fustrating thing is that if the offense was halfway decent we could have won the game last night.

Miles hates backups having any success and insists on punishing them for that.

I wasn't concerned about the playbook. I was just wondering if he was still on the team after not seeing him all night??? What a loaded gun does if you don't fire it... I was cinfused but so was Miles and GC for that matter.

I guess Miles could wait until we are DEAD LAST in Offense and not just the bottom ten or so to give Shep some touches.

Lsu is already last.

What's Les waiting for?

don't know and the sad part is he/Miles couldn't explain it if he took time to think about it.

People used to laugh at this statement, but now it's more true than ever.

Not one single snap Les?

I thought for sure last night would be the game shep would fake the run then drop back and throw that bitch. It has been set up, why the hell was it not tried last night?

that is exaclty what I drew up in my head as a game changing play. Shep fakes the run and the d bites then a two step drop and WHAMMY right to JOJO (Tolliver etc). I should not set myself up for failure like that...

There is absolutely no legitimate reason for Shep not getting on the field last night. Our defense played well enough to win that game. Even if you just give him his usual 3 or 4 carries, it might have extended some drives, and made a difference in the game.

From the offense i've seen so far a pee wee league qb could run this offense. It has nothing to do with Shepard knowing the plays its like many others have mentioned before, Miles refuses to play freshmen and eventually this will come back to hurt this team really bad.

exaxctly! extending drives and keeping UF off the field as well as D some rest (even though they were PRETTY DARN GOOD)

So many good points in this thread, and this one is one of the best.

I also agree with the point that JJ isn't a 5th year senior that we trust so much that we shouldn't pull him. If we can bench cornerbacks and running backs, why can't we try a new QB while we are piling up 162 yards for an entire game?

As far as I can recall, I don't think he has yet to be caught for a loss or no gain. I don't understand why he wasn't used at least on short yardage situations.

It is pathetic. Shep coming in, faking the run then stepping back to throw is damn near assured to at worst get a deep ball with single coverage.

But hey, why do that when you can run the option to the short side for no gain for the 900th time?

This is LSU's offense:

Pistol:

- Handoff to Chuck
- Get sacked

Power-I:

- Handoff to Chuck

Shotgun:

- Option for a loss of yards or 2 yards maximum
- End around to Trindon
- QB draw
- Sack

Shep can do this IMO FWIW
