LSU fan base would blow its collective load if we got Saban. I’d take three straight seasons of .500 football with Saban over what we have right now

Don’t want Kiffin

Agreed. Kiffin is a good play caller/OC but is a clown HC. His antics would infuriate LSU fans once he lost a game or 2. Hes a good fit at Ole miss because its not a serious program and they enjoy the attention he brings with his 14 year old girl twitter habit. He would flame out at any serious program just like he has in the past.

I would to. This is frustrating as heck.

You aren't his agent. Sexton is.

quote:

Per Ben Garrett of On3, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin's agent, Jimmy Sexton, is trying to get his client to become the highest-paid coach in college football.

"Sources told the Ole Miss Spirit on Friday Kiffin’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, is aiming to make Kiffin the highest-paid coach in the country," Garrett wrote. "Auburn, LSU and others could all open, too."

Y’all keep saying BK is too old and then pushing the Gruden idea. He’s 62, not far behind BK. I don’t get it.

Did I say I was his agent?

with minimal buyout just have incentives to max pay per year to secure the job

Missed this part?

Like Ive been saying, with the new landscape of NIL / Collectives, the market will shift away from these massive guaranteed buyouts. Trade off will be higher per year pay, either by base pay or incentive, and have competitive NIL.

Kiffin. I think he wants to be here. I also think he would kill it with the talent

Gruden wants Florida, LSU, or back in the league.

Fun story - Gruden and crew used to watch college games in the Four Seasons bar before Sunday cowyboy’s game. Used to see him quite a but and it’s a really small bar. I play tennis there and would just head to the bar to eat and watch games.

Anyway, sat with him multiple times and would jokingly bug him about being open to coach at LSU if the opportunity arose. He’d buy me a shot every time, toast me and say he would have a hell of a time at LSU.

That said, I don’t think it would ever happen.

Only if the schools/donors are willing to say no. It's the desperation of the schools/donors that drive the coaching salary market higher.

If there is a market shift, I think it will be more towards the hiring of power conf coordinators who don't have the leverage of success as an HC to drive a huge price. The sell to the fanbase will be the school/donors will have more to pay for the roster since they aren't paying $10M, $11M, $12M for a HC. But again, that's incumbent on the schools/donors changing their expectations

So if he finishes 7-5 which is a real possibility, after having a top 10 roster in terms of talent, you don’t think he will be fired?

No. There's not a line of guys waiting to write a check for 50 million dollars in Louisiana. Next year is more manageable, but still a ridiculous 40 million.
