It's a multiple set offense. We still have a lot of Les ground and pound players (FBs, a bunch of interior OL) so we line up in I formation still sometimes to work to that strength. On both of Brossette's long runs, the FB was in the game (as a H-back though).

We also are trying to work in spread shotgun quite a bit.

Nothing wrong with being multiple, you dont have to be purely spread or purely under center power offense. They are using what they have. It's just a bit tougher to go to shotgun spread and throw the ball when your OL cant block anyone.

Play not to lose the game. Put all the pressure on your defense

All that needs to be pointed out is that six games into the season, our current offense is gaining less yards per game than Cam’s 2015 or Canada’s 2017. As we all know, we fired both those guys.

hmm i wonder what is different about those offenses...i will let you figure it out

this offense stuff is disappointing and lacking of any significant improvement

new qb, new oc, injuries on oline and young wr...and you don't think they have improved since the first game?

Correct, nothing wrong with being multiple. But that was a horrible game plan/scheme. Fla sold out and blitzed the weak side, just about every play and he kept trying to hit deeper routes on sidelines. How SE didn't notice this and counter with more slants to the blitzing side, TE drags or run counters, draws to the blitz is crazy. Hell, have your RB chip to the weak side and release and hit him.

It felt as though SE saw something on film to get multiple big plays and even though it wasn't happening, just kept trying to run it. NO in game adjustments!

It’s a spread offense built around the run game.

Running two receivers each play is not a spread offense

, right?

SE is great with the first drive, scripted plays but is terrible at in game adjustments.

I wouldn’t say it’s pointless. You always hear that having an identity is important from people that have played the game and or coached the game at high levels. I’m pretty sure they know more than the average tiger rant poster.
