That is sort of my opinion too - I think he got a critical first down in that game that only CEH could do. (I do have a bad memory - but that is how I remember it, and how I told my grandkids about it - so don't mess up my story
) However, probably every player in that Bama game could construct a "if not one me" story about it.
I just know I loved CEH's contribution that whole season.

Clyde did destroy them, but I don't think it's because they were suprised by him. There were at least 4 plays where Bama whipped us at the point of attack on critical down and distance plays and Clyde made people miss and made something out of nothing.
And that third down play where he literally picked a screen from Burrow off his shoelaces, a very difficult catch and not only caught it but navigated the yards needed for a first with good hard running and great vision.
HUGE plays all of them.

You could argue that the Bama game made Clyde a whole lot of money.
I don't think he gets picked anywhere close to the first round without the tape from that game.
