Also stated in article that Michigan never offered him the job.
Are you 15 or new to how schools cover their arse in coaching search.
Damn, we got some fruit loops here.

So now we have to know someone personally to respect and admire them? This is getting strange...

That's not that hard to do.
You'd think it wouldn't be but some of the posters on here...... I don't get it.

Client- do you really think he would have gone to Arkansas? If you say yes you are basically saying he isn't as loyal as you claim. If you say no then it means he used it as leverage to get a raise.
I say no and I don't think it was used as leverage. If you believe Les is loyal, then you believe he wouldn't go to Arkansas - which is what happened.
It was Alleva who decided to reward Les. Where have you heard that Les threatened to leave if he didn't get a raise?
We still aren't paying him as much as Arkansas offered, so why would we stay here if he isn't one loyal sumbitch?

I'll probably get the rath of the OT but loyalty is definitely a rare thing these days. Is it just an old school thing? Or, do old farts like me expect it and are disappointed we rarely see it in this day and age.
Les showed loyalty in his face and voice in the legendary press conference before the 2007SECCG--he was pissed and displayed true loyalty to LSU. Showed us what kind of man he is on the inside.

He's loyal to this university and this program unlike little nicky who's all about $$$ signs.
He tried out the NFL... didn't work. It's not like he's jumped from job to job for an extra few bucks.

Why listen if you aren't interested in the job? The only reason is for leverage.

Do you not think LSU does the same? The truth about the discussions behind closed doors usually lie somewhere in the middle. Don't be so naive to think otherwise.

You don't really think that is exclusive to LSU, right? Every single college football coach, particularly those that are very successful, does this.
I SIAP, and this is spot on:

There was no bluff, Miles was getting a pay raise. He just used the Arkansas offer to show his market value. Plain and simple...
