Considering Hatch took almost all the snaps in the first two games I though Lee did what was expected for his first real game experience. Next week he will improve.
Hatch is the QB I would put on the field in the Red Zone. Other than that he is trash. I repeat he is trash.
The future lies with Lee or even Jefferson if he gets a shot.

Lee must start if we want a realistic shot at the NC next year.
good point. we need to develop this guy as much as we can. We could have him for FOUR years as a starter, which would be awesome.

WHAT has Hatch done to be called trash?! you are un-friggin-believable. He is a young quarterback just getting experience in the SEC. While Lee may prove to be the stronger quarterback, this young guy does not deserve to be called trash. Give me a break. Call him inexperienced, call him the weaker passer, but do not call him trash. please.

Fans like this are an embarrassment to LSU. Where the frick do you come off calling Hatch trash ... hello pot, meet kettle.

Yes, I've been to the games, asswipe. Does he have weaknesses? absolutely. Will Lee turn out to be a better quarterback? probably. My point is we recruited him, he's playing to the best of his ability, he has shown coolness under pressure, he obviously was the better quarterback to start, in our coaches opinion, and he doesn't deserve to be called trash. and I stand by that.

Recruited, transferred, it doesn't matter. We allowed him on our roster and chose to start him in the game. It's fans like you that got banned last night for being the negatiger you are. You can criticize the play without personal attacks on these kids. None of them deserve that. now I'm done with you.

Come on...he was just trying to be respectful and tactful that's all!

quote:I think the coaches may see the combination of Mississippi State next on the schedule and Hatch's injury as a perfect opportunity to give Lee the start without having a openly demote Hatch by saying it's due to Hatch not quite being 100%. That way they will get to see if Lee is really ready to take over as the main guy or if he still needs some seasoning and the 2nd half was just a blip in a much longer process. If he starts against MSU and tears it up, then we can pretty much call the question answered. If he struggles and stumbles, the we can still switch Hatch back in for stability and (probably) overmatch State enough to win despite whatever mistakes the QBs make. And all without messing with the psychology of either QB.
but I still think Hatch should start the next game if he's not hurt and I think the coaches will agree.
So unless I see anything different early this week, I would expect Lee to take the first snap against State.

Well said. The ironic thing is that posters like what's-his-name wouldn't be allowed within 10 miles of a football team, even as a freakin' water boy, because of their idiocy. He may have tickets to the game, but it sure hasn't taught him a thing about the game or the kids who bust their arse to entertain him. fricking maggot.

> QB rotations never worked. If we play a 2nd QB, it should be JJ to run the RP package.
Why not? Really, help me understand.
It seems to me in baseball, we see it all the time. First of all, the pitchers HAVE to rotate. At least in HS prep, they can only play a certain number of innings, or something...I don't really know the rules, but I know they have to rotate. And in watching the major, I know it is a big strategy to have the best pitcher in play in the most important games. Isn't it also true in baseball that you can not just switch pitchers in and out??? Right?
So, why in FB where they can swap players in and out, just like basketball, does it not work to have two QBs??
I think JL and AH both have lots of assets to compliment each other. And if the coaches play it smart the other team will never know what is coming at them.
It seems to me the WRONG thing to do is do what they did last night. Played Hatch until they could see he was having problems, then yanked him, then when Lee wasn't doing so well, yanked him again. Nobody felt good about being in the game until Lee HAD to be in and as others have noted, didn't have to worry about being yanked.
It seems like a scene straight out of a Disney movie, "Angels in the Outfield". Confidence is the key. Hatch probably would have played better...and he looked more confident. Lee's confidence was growing right through to the end.
So why not tell the guys, "Look, we are here to win...not to play games with who is lead, and you all are both going a lot, so get ready, stay ready on the sideline and get ready to lead the very talented Tigers to another NC!"

I agree. We are just going to have to be patient while he develops. He might lose one of two he (we) shouldnt have, but its worth it. Without him, we cannot go far.
I just hope the fans are supportive. This guy looks REALLY young and of course, he is. But I think we all saw the talent. So let him roll.

I hate it that Hatch went down, but Lee won the game. I thought it was a gimme that Lee starts now.Another game of experience next week and the improvement should be big, he ,like a team should improve between his first real action and his second game.. This was lees first game ,and under the circumstances ,I think he is the starter. The coaches review the film work on what needs to be improved and hopefully a confident,QB by the Fla. game. Sorry but Hatch doesnt have the arm to take LSU through the SEC.
