Yep. Scares the hell outta me. I was glad to see him come to life last night, but Hatch is more poised and mature IMO.

sure if you like 16 yards

I like Hatch’s mobility, but lets face it, LSU is a one-dimensional offense when Hatch is in the game because Hatch doesn’t have the arm to deliver the ball downfield. Lee, on the other hand, isn’t nearly as mobile as Hatch, but he has a rifle arm and can really deliver the ball downfield, which forces teams to play us honestly and defend the whole field instead of just loading up the box. Not to mention that our receiving core is very deep and talented. Hence, as long as Lee can continue to play like he played in the second half of the Auburn game while also improving and gaining confidence and experience as the season progresses, I believe we are much better off with Lee getting most of the reps than with Hatch.

Another thing I liked about Lee as the game progressed is that he seemed to be very cool under pressure and seemed like he was enjoying himself, and I think his confidence rubbed off on the team. Ask Brandon Lafell if he had fun in the second half!

Not to mention also that Hatch threw a pretty silly interception last week that cost us 3 points.

As long as he isnt looking over his shoulder waiting for Les to put in the other QB, hes going to be ok!
Thats the impression i got from him last night.Look you have a RSF QB.He doesnt know the whole play book,he threw an interception, and he knows he's got competition on the sidelines watching him. Also, this was LSU vs. Auburn, big game.I would have been nervous as a dog shittin barbed-wire.But you have Hatch go down with a game ending injury,Crowton figuring out which plays he knows and executes well.H estepped up and overcame. He settled down and started playing ball and leading his team.We won.
I actually like the prospect of him QB.ing for the next couple of years. He can only improve, and if last night was the worst he can play, then he has a very bright future.

He is going to throw a lot of ints. The game winner could have, should have been picked off.
But he has shown improvement. I still want to see JJ get some time.
This really is the most inept board on the planet.
Lee is the guy. Hatch should be playing, as well, but Lee is clearly the guy. JJ can play a little and run the ball, but he's so far behind Lee at this point there isn't a telescope in the world that could span the distance between the two. Lee IS our guy. The only question in my mind is who is better for running the option as a QB-- Hatch or JJ.
And the staring down recievers complaint again? Are you kidding? Are we really going to keep hearing this after Rohan, Mauck, JR, and MF won championships 'staring' guys down?

I think when he didn't have to worry about getting yanked he relaxed and played much better.

i sat behind the LSU bench and his demeanor on the sideline totally changed after he knew he was the guy...some leadership started to come out. Given the situation and environment, he grew up quite a bit in the second half last night

just curious what QB didn't scare yall? MF and MM were INT phenoms. Both were very sloppy with the ball. And we all know how despised JR and RD were for their 'inability to read defenses and make decisions'.
Lee is going to throw interceptions, but not half as many as Hatch and JJ would. Hatch can not make hardly ANY of those passes Lee won the game with. He missed two EASY TD's in the first half.
Lee is the guy. Give him 70+% of the snaps and let Hatch run the option and running role.

Bingo.
But i was scared to death when he was getting punished after throwing the ball. If JJ goes in the game, its over-- we have no downfield passing game w/o Lee.

no one is calling him an AA yet, but he obviously gives our offense the best chance to be very good. We have too much talent at WR to waste on hatch.

He locks on receivers on occasion, but when you can throw like he can, reaction time becomes less of an issue. He may get burned a few times but as his feel for the timing improves, he will become a prolific passer and a great game manager. There are not many arms like his around. Anywhere!!

i dont get it. why should hatch start. he cant complete a pass.
Because it's important to start the game with a level head and set the tone for the team. That is what all of our successful teams had and that is what the coaches want. Despite Lee's play his nerves are not going to be 'gone' after one amazing half. Let Hatch start, let Lee come in as usual and he'll perform well again.
For the record I thought Hatch would start the year, and Lee would be starter by the 4th game (SEC play) - so it would be easy for me to say let Lee start and then come back and say I was right, but I still think Hatch should start the next game if he's not hurt and I think the coaches will agree.
Sooner or later though Lee will be the starter because he's simply a more accurate passer in addition to his physical advantages. Lee is my favorite QB on the team, I just think one more game for Hatch unless he's concussed.

I think this pic says alot.Lee is Miles' new best friend. The look on hatch's face may some indication. And yea i know Hatch got banged up,but...

disagree
if you feel Lee is the guy go with him now and let him get in a rhythm. The rotation was hurting not helping

hatch isn't really "level headed"

and hatch has ice cold blood or something?
oh wait, hatch is the one who freaks out 1 second into a passing plan and tries to run, unsuccessfully
there is no advantage to hatch

I agree, because not only are you competing against the team on the field, your competing with your own teammates as well.
