Does last year's team go undefeated with this offense?

defense was arguably the best it has been outside of 2011. much better talent on both sides of the ball.

No we still lose to Bama.. Danny Etling was NOT beating that Bama D from last season.. That’s just the sad truth

Very possible. Fournette in the offense would be insane

No. Problem is still Etling. I remember when people acted like his back was the reason why he couldn't step into throws and blah blah. Now after he gets it fixed and says he's feeling better than ever, he still comes out this year looking exactly the same.

Spread offenses have beaten Bama, and until we get another HC, this will probably be the closest we get to that in Canada. Next up is an accuracy passer and/or great runner.

No. QB is still a major weakness. Until we address that position, we're going to have an uphill battle against Bama.

It baffles me how LSU, with all it's resources and access to talent, has struggled at QB for as long as we have.

Yes, we are DBU, but we are also No QBU.

So tired of hearing about we couldn't block last year. We couldn't block because we ran it right into the teeth of the defense. How is it that a lesser talented O-line (this year) fared better against bama than last year? Scheme puts players in better situations and Canada is doing just that. This year Bama had to defense sideline to sideline and could not just simply attach the offensive line like in past years. Hence, you saw more 5 yard gains than we've EVER seen against Alabama.

You people are the worst.

Is this offense even any better than it was last year under Ensminger? I’m not so sure. Actually, I’m pretty sure I’d take last year’s.

It fared a lot better against Bama. Ensminger just ran Cameron’s offense with different play calling.

This offense is just finding its groove.

Maybe. Bama would have been the only game in question imo. Imagine 2013 with this coaching staff. Aranda would have faired better defensively. And we had so many weapons on offense that we would have been even stronger with the new playcalling.

I wouldn't. This is Canada's first year. It takes time to teach a new system to players (that's not even accounting for our early OL issues).

Cameron's offense was predictable and ineffective, plus he couldn't recruit or develop a QB. Stop LSU's run attack, and you've likely won the game bc Cameron/Miles would never give multiple looks to a D. In year three (or 4, I can't remember) we were statistically worse off under Cameron and nothing was improving.

I'll take the gamble of a new system over one that was proven not to work.

Last year had leonard f., traven d and even malachi d. All three of those guys would have helped a ton with this playcallng spreading the d out. But this offensive style without question is more effective against bama. This game was at bama with less talent and we looked much better offensively against saban.

Alabama has a lot less talent too, especially on defense. I think last year’s team moves the ball just as well on this year’s Bama team. And I’m considering personnel as much as scheme. You mentioned a few guys—don’t forget Ethan Pocic.
