If 14 wins gets you in the regional, and that’s also a losing record (14-16), then whether it’s a losing record or not doesn’t matter. It’s competitive. At or around .500 in the sec is considered competitive.

I like how because it happened before, that’s the metric. Never mind those years have had far better SEC teams to justify it. It was an extenuating circumstance.

What, you think if you get CLOSE to a winning conference record all of those bad non conference losses stop mattering?

If we get a 3-4 seed at the number one national seed (aka one of the last schools picked), it’ll be primarily on name alone.

Nothing in this reply does anything to counter that they’re not competitive. You’re adding these qualifiers like 3/4 seed. The seed doesn’t matter. Making a regional is competitive. Period. And until a 14 win team doesn’t make it, then I’ll keep believing. The new conference has been around for 2 years now. Neither one of us knows how that changes things until it’s proven.

It may partially be name, but 14 conference wins usually get you in. Kentucky got in with 13 last year. It’s not hard to figure out, it’s just the way it is.
