He's run one program in his life and was an epic fricking disaster

I understand that was 10 years ago. In the present, Aranda (who by almost all ranters' accounts is a genius) thinks Coach O has a great football mind. Is he wrong?

I didn't comment on that. I commented on the absurd suggestion that we know Orgeron can run a program and be an effective CEO. That is totally different from being a great football mind.

The only time he's ever had to run a program and be a CEO, he modeled it after Enron.

The guy has been in CFB and the NFL for what, 25 years? Of course his mind is a repository of football knowledge that would dwarf any normal persons. In an absolute sense, Orgeron is highly knowledgeable about football.

But he's not coaching against me or you. He's coaching against Saban, the top 1% of the top 1% of coaches. He is a retard compared to Saban.

So what are we talking about here. You think Aranda meant he has a great football mind relative to other great football minds? I don't think he meant that at all. If he did, he's lying.

Bottom line, Yes. Many great coaches have failed at first and turned failure into outstanding successful careers. I believe CEO is going to be one of those success stories that we will be very proud of.

I'm shocked that Aranda would say something complimentary of his boss.

I doubt he'd be offended. He's the head coach of LSU and you're a TD poster.

And why is it that people say no offense, right before they say something really offensive?

It's like, not to sound racist....then go on to say the most racist thing ever

I'm not sure any coach ever has failed like Orgeron has failed and been a huge success

In our conference, in our division, and worst coach ever. He's Ole Miss' Curly Hallman

Please, PLEASE bring up Belichick and Carroll so we can just know to ignore everything you ever say in the future.

Yep, it really just doesn't fit the narrative that Orgeron is a buffoon and only knows the D line.

I guess Aranda's lying amirite, amirite.

Or it could be that Orgeron has a very bright football mind and that's why he's managed to stay in the highest levels of d1 and NFL coaching for 30 years

But Aranda's probably lying, amirite

Abe Lincoln failed many many times in his life in politics before being elected to President...some ignorant asses hang out on this site simply to display that they know nothing about real life...

He's managed to stay in the highest levels of DL coaching. He has never been a coordinator and was a terrible head coach.

He's only ever coached the D-line, that's all any coach has ever been comfortable giving him control of. It is what it is.

Wouldn't call it a bright football mind. If he had a bright football mind someone would've given him a shot to run a defense by now.

He possesses one elite skill, the ability to compel others to follow his lead. He owes everything he's ever accomplished in football to that ability. That's why he's a fantastic recruiter and that's why he was able to get this HC job. If he had the personality of Saban he would've been out of football a long time ago.

His force of personality does not make him a bright football mind. I don't know if people think that's mean to say or what, I just think it's axiomatic. Bright minds in football scheme, they innovate. They become coordinators as a natural progression through their careers. That's not Orgeron.

Orgeron wouldn't need to "let coaches coach" if he were accomplished enough to scheme on at least one side of the ball.

CEO has stated many times that he's going to let the DC and the OC do what they are hired to do...as all HCs he'll consult with them in the game plans...this is not rocket science, it's simply football...

That's why I didn't include Curly because he was not one to improve from his failure in the past.
Of course your failure of not being able to comprehend what I said is why you have not been able to grow as a person beyond where you are today.
Hope you can learn something today that might help you improve tomorrow.

Aranda said Coach Ogeron "has a great mind football wise." You can try and twist it however you like. You can even call Aranda a liar.

I'm sure Aranda really meant that O has a great football mind, except when compared to other great football minds. You, sir, are an idiot.

You should do research. Can you believe a coach with a worse winning percentage than O in the first 3 years, actually won a national championship? Yep. I'd call that failing worse than O and being a huge success. And it's not Belichick or Carroll. Look up Gene Stallings.
