Does Bolt get an interview?

He has an excellent program and has coached in the SEC specifically when Woodward was at Texas A&M. He is from Conroe. I’ve mentioned this in a couple other threads and it wouldn’t shock me if Scott hasn’t already made those phone calls.

Who you don’t and don’t want is so incredibly inconsistent

Thought you wanted a proven winner?

Yes I hope so. He knows the area
Imagine what he could do with LSU’s resources

I’m pretty sure I only said I want one candidate and that is Godwin. Just because I defend a candidate doesnt mean that I want that candidate over the one I would have as first choice. Having a a little perspective and not immediately trying to destroy someone because of something you think you may know or heard in some website is both childish and the polar opposite of what someone making a business decision would do. You look at everything and do a SWOT analysis of each candidate to determine who is the right fit for the job at the present time and offers the best chance for a future success. Conditions change and you manage according to the situation such as the title iX problems we are facing. My general feeling is Godwin would be very successful at LSU based on how he has performed at East Carolina.

SWOT analysis
Those are fun.
I think “successful” needs to be defined. What is our standard?
I was told context and nuance are necessary elements and must be considered, so I’m really wanting to discuss this more.
Could Godwin win games? Sure
Can he get to Omaha? History says no
Let’s define “successful” and go from there in our candidate evals. I’m not a fan of playing the imagine game when it comes to potential results. I’d rather someone proven.

What I said was if someone like Casey wanted to job vs McDonnell you better damn well listen because those guys Can be counted on 2 fingers and he arguably did a better job than Corbin without the advantages Corbin has had at Vandy. If you wanna top 2 coach get hire Casey no questions asked.

I agree but I wouldn’t use you as my stockbroker. “Past performance doesn’t predict the future success” as the saying goes.
That’s why you look at the entire situation such as how they performed against the best and what resources they had when they were competing against the best. While you say no to Godwin getting to Omaha, you would want to define getting to Omaha as a measure success. However, for LSU fans that is not good enough. Winning at all is how we define enough. Thus far only two candidates that were mentioned had met the criteria and that was Sulky and Casey. We all know Corbin is not a reality. The next Tier down says McDonnell’s performance would not meet the criteria LSU fans expect based on his past performance because he has had better facilities than Godwin for example and has NOT coached in the SEC.
