Was the same play AFTER Saban called the timeout?
CBK ran out to the field and called timeout, not Saban.

The play may have been the same but the personnel was different. Boutte was on the field, in the slot on the right, before the timeout and after, he was replaced by another tight end who lined up on the left side. Maybe it was the same play with a different alignment to make it seem more like a possible run option to the left. Plus, taking Boutte off the field on the right side clears up the congestion and lessens the likelihood of a pick foul being called.

Man i was wishing we would have hiked the ball with Bama having 12 on the field.
Yeah, but the play we ran was dependent on Taylor's motion, so we couldn't rush it.

The reason we didnt was because we has TE in motion on the play. With the motion too high of a risk that we get an illegal motion, false start, or end up running the play before we wanted to. If there was no motion then I would be mad at daniels but right decision because we had backfield movement involved in the play call.

Right, but didn't the TO get awarded to Saban? I thought Kelly was trying to stop the play before it started, since he didn't want this particular play call wasted

On rewatching the game, I think it was a similar formation. TE was in a similar spot, I think doing the same motion. Was clearly the same play. I also see that it was we who called the timeout. Must have been someone out of position, or it looked like they were on our case.
