Because his last success came in 2007. Since then, he has lost the last two games against Ole Miss, Florida, and Alabama. We continue to have the same issues with game management, half time adjustments, and finger pointing. That is not the sign of a good coach, a good leader or a good man.

I wrote Bertman the day we hired him, told him it was a lazy effort and they did not even try to find a worthy coach.

Crowton caused the frick up by calling for substitutions.

I would bet my life savings that Crowton didn't pull JL on 2nd and goal at the 2 yard line! JJ is Miles' guy. He's the only coach that wants him in the game.

Crowton....that's his job, he coordinates the frickin' offense. The rest are on Miles but its hard to "manage the flow" when your OC is such a colossal frick up.

Mark May said it best when he said (and im paraphrasing) "that debacle is on Crowton. He's the OC, he controls the offense, if there is a problem with the offense than its on Crowton."

Choctaw and all the defenders in this thread should be forced to have a scarlet R for RETARD in their avatar for 5 years following Les Miles' dismissal.

No! And what makes you think Crowton caused the screw up. Where you on the headsets. Ever think CLM was calling the plays.

so Les Miles has hired colossoal frickups to coordinate his offense and defense in the past few years? Thats a sure sign of a great head coach.

You need to send Alleva a copy as a reminder to get this hire correct. Find a coach whose teams win and improve as the season progresses and who can handle an interview and the media. He should not be infatuated by an NFL retread as Pete Carrol was the exception while Al Groh and Chan Gailey are the rule.

I would probably vote that 98 percent of the teams in college football lose to Bama and FL the last two years.

half time adjustments

We punted one time, and outgained our first half....even with the JJ fluke up the middle.

We made some horrible mistakes, and Miles is the man responsible...but people need to stick with the argument, the late wholesale subs was absolutely silly...as well as the delay of game and use of the last time out. These things need to be laser focused on, so that Miles feels a tremendous amount of heat on this aspect.

We have a pretty good chance to beat FL next week. If that happens, hell who knows. But we probably do not win another real game by more than 7-8 points, we must be better in the details.

One thing is for sure: LSU will never have to worry about somebody stealing their head football coach as long as Coach Miles is there.

Never did. I tried to turn my brain off and be a brainless positiger along the pathway, but never could get there.

He recruits well, and when he happens to have the right QB and leadership in addition to the recruiting talent, he can succeed. Well, he needs some luck in the end of games also (Auburn/Florida 2007, yesterday).

No that isn't all the matters, and I seriously have to question your intelligence if you actually believe that.

Furthermore, I have to question your sincerity, b/c nobody actually enjoys watching that kind of nonsense game in and game out. I think you and others are only taking this stance so that you can draw pride from being "rational". You aren't being honest with yourself. Some of us saw it after a couple of years, the rest of us get it now after 5 years. Those of you acting like you don't get it are just full of shite.

If you were honest, you would admit that if it were any team other than LSU playing the way LSU has for the last few years, you would be laughing at them for paying a coach to produce that shite.

I don't want this to turn into a Miles vs. Saban argument, but I thought this quote from an article in the chattanooga times says it best.
quote:

This time they got away with it. And they may keep getting away with it until it comes time to play Alabama, because other than the Crimson Tide, the Tigers may have the most athletically gifted team in the SEC.

Of course 5-0 is great compared to the alternative, and we will likely rise as high as #7 in the coaches poll this week, but we are playing so far below our talent level that it is ridiculous. I will never give up on our players, and I'm not saying that Miles has to be fired, but some changes need to be made on the offensive staff. Namely, Crowton, whether the substitution were his fault or not. A high school team can get off two plays from the 1 with 28 seconds left in the game. We barely got one play, and our subs didn't come running onto the field until 9 seconds were left.

No. He basically threw the players under the bus again. I hope kelvin shep has that players meeting. Either way miles needs to be fired after the season or at least crowton must be let go. Also, what is gonzales getting paid to do?
