Only if we had gotten the ball to DP more than we would beat anyone...he was the reason we did not win both games, if only we had used him more...

Honestly, no. At least for sure not on Jan 9. The better team won.

Through the regular season, yes. LSU was better. Unfortunately, in the game that mattered, Bama was better. What burns me up, is that LSU was so unprepared, and even after it was apparent we were getting beat, we made no adjustments. I hope that CLM can use this as a learning experience to not be as stubborn and be more flexible.

LSU is a legit QB away. The conservative approach works best for teams like Bama and LSU when playing teams they can just flat out "out talent"

When playing teams with comparable talent you gotta be able to throw the ball some to loosen up the defense.

I also believe that if Bama & LSU played 10 consecutive games vs each other, it'd be 5-5. Heck, look at the last 6.....3-3 so it's no stretch of the imagination that it'd be 5-5 for 10, is it? Both teams are the upper crust of the SEC and it's a great rivalry, one I personally like much better than the game involving the "other" team from this state :)

Defensively it's even. Special Teams is LSU. LSU with JJ and offense Bama gets the edge.

Bama is better. I am thankful LSU was better on that early Nov night, and agree with Danielson, it should've been the only time need face them, thus what makes for a "classic"..

But, after 8.33 quarters of football, despite a barrel-catch to his arse by Shep in 2nd qtr in TTown that could've been carried into the endzone, and/or running mere seconds more from punching in a TD before halftime..

LSU's only other missed opportunity for a TD, was in OT with 'artificial insemination' of the ball to the 25 yd line by refs and rules..

LSU's O generated but 6 pts reg time(9 w/OT) in 8-plus quarters of football. Bama, if with a more competent gameplan, FG Kicker, TE that refuses to let late-closing much-smaller DB steal the football, etc..had far more flirtations into LSU territory..

Felt in Nov, that Tigers, though clear dogs, could go in and possibly steal one, expecting it very close either way..

Kept my mouth quiet heading into the BSCCG, fully expecting Bama to extract revenge, and if the game were a laugher..knew it would be Tide laughing. As LSU's swag and lax starts vs Ark and UGA, CLM's move away from the harder to prep for two-headed QB system to the sole-JJ spead-option(granted JJ bailed out JL..whom Bama owns..just as had JL bailed JJ with the great goalline fade throw at Fla in 2010)..

Most importantly everyone knowing Saban would make adjustments from his uncharacteristic gaffes in the 1st showdown. And would have the more PO'ed players and staff heading into a BCSCG of somewhat equal squads.

Most football pundits, be it the media Herbstreits, Palmers, Pollacks,etc..Former HCs Bowden, Barnett,etc..Vegas Wiseguys and the Oddsmakers/BMs, be it LVSC, Amaitis, Billy Walters, Billy Baxter,etc..were all Bama in the rematch, regardless whom they had in the November tilt. Whether an LSU fan or not, the first game clearly showed that Bama had more things that could be improved and tweeked within some reason, than could've LSU..and this was many pundits main reasoning in expecting Tide to win BCSCG.

Bama, as had LSU vs OU 2003 and Bama vs Tex 2009, showed up with a rested Saban team ready to absolutely stonewall the opposing team's OL and DL, dominate.

Whether or not there was any dissension, infighting, or the QB and other Tigs at Harrah's tables playing BJ, Dice, or at the Wheel, and/or chugging alcohol in the wee hours, I don't know, I wasn't there. But, for many Tigers(not most..nor all), the effort and body language, was totally queer from jumpstreet, straight out of the tunnel.

And when one of your team's toughest guys and leaders in Blackwell, strongly asserted a desire to not face them again, months ago, despite Sonic Sam and CLM's welcoming the thought..

Most Tigerfans should've well-known that their team from player 1 to 85, weren't gonna have near the same level unisoned-motivation that was Bama's.

As a Tigerfan, I am exteremely thankful for a marvelous season, an well-deserved unbeaten SEC slate and SEC Title. But, said to all friends and family, when Okie Lite's ball at Ames went right over the right post and was called no-good, then subsequent OT loss..my heart sank..knew in my heart of hearts that I was hoping against hope..from there on out.

P.S. If tl:dr for the Ritalin bunch..IDGAF.

LSU everywhere but QB >> Bama everywhere but QB

Bama QB >>>>>> LSU QB

ergo

Bama > LSU in 2011

LINEBACKERS?? STARTING RB?? TIGHT END?

And did not 8.3 qtrs of football show Bama's OL and DL, a Push/Pick 'Em at absolute worst? And dare say just a shade better possibly?

How could anyone who does not wear purple and gold glasses say that a team that could not score "one" touchdown in eight {8] quarters [actually 9 because of overtime] against a team contend that they were the better team????????????

Well certainly not in head coaching. CLM was schooled by Saban. LSU did have the same talent level but Miles love for JJ doomed us from the kickoff.

Players across the board, yes. However you have to include the head coach and the play calling. With that being said we were a distant second.

No, who won the National Championship? The team that wins the National Championship is the best team in the country period. Regardless if they have already been beaten by the team they are playing in the National Championship.

It is not really so hard to dispute this. LSU's record would suggest otherwise all by itself. The opposition LSU faced would suggest otherwise all by itself.
If Les Miles was not a knucklehead we would not be discussing this.

Yes. I watched both teams a good bit and each of our games twice. We had a REALLY bad game. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at next year) that was not a talent issue in my opinion. We were out coached in the Championship game. Les out coached Saban first game. Too bad every game does NOT count as we now know.
