I'm not from NOLA, so I never got the hatred. And my SO is from a Tulane family, so I've started halfway pulling for them except when they play LSU.

It's easier to root for a team that's not a threat to you.

Tulane and LSU had a different rivalry a long time ago.

Tulane? Isn't that the highschool that plays their game in the Dome with the hideous uniforms?

I'm a Tulane alum. Loved every minute of my time there; love the school still. Also every bit a Tiger fan on the gridiron

I hate Tulane baseball, but I also feel it's an advantage to LSU that they arent any good at football.

My dad and I were talking about this last night.

The rivalries were so different a long time ago.

For me personally, I don't have a bone to pick with Tulane.

Ask me about Alabama and it's on. I hate them with a freaking passion.

i don't hate them at all. But then again, they have never been relevant during my lifetime.

In the old days the Tulane Fans were obnoxious and got on my nerves at work. When you working with these guys on nights and they are going on with all their bull crap every night. The worse was 1980 which was Stovall's first year as coach. LSU/Tulane in Tiger Stadium and Tulane just knew they were going to win the game. They had Long Ball Nickie Hall and he was supposed to put up like 500 yards against LSU. All week long all we heard was Long Ball Hall and Hall for Heisman. It got sickening toward Saturday. Hap Glaudi picked LSU to win and the Tulane Fans came unglued and flooded the radio. Anyway it came Saturday and it poured down rain all day. It rained the entire game. Hall could not do crap and Risher passed for over 200 yards and LSU won like 24-7. The LSU Band marched in the rain and at the end of the game was only maybe 25,000 people left but they were loud and all were LSU. Tulane said the game did not count because it rained!

The loss of hatred towards Tulane is truly a great loss for LSU.

A few years back I took a trip to Tulane to visit a friend and watch UCF play. The game/crowd was boring as hell (61-14 ), but I had a great time otherwise. Beautiful campus and met some good people.

I'm at LSU now for grad school, and I don't think I've even heard anyone mention Tulane except for a classmate who went there. There's hate?

My dad graduated from Tulane on the GI Bill after WW II. No hate here. He's a GW fan and he respects me following the Tigers. It's all good.

It's hard to believe that Tulane was once a member of the SEC. And the fact that they chose to leave and become independent is pretty unbelievable.

I'm 40 so I was alive when there was still some relevance. Still remember being there way back in the day. Tiguhs had already excepted bid to the Orange Bowl. Last game of season. LSU was about a 5 TD favorite, and Tulane beat us in the rain. It sucked. And I had to eat crow with my Tulane neighborhood buddies. Could not believe the Tiguhs let me down. And in a blink of an eye, the rivalry was over. One of the few names I can recall from that era of Tulane players was WR Reggie Reginelli. That name (whether spelled properly of not) always stuck with me. He was a very good player.

I don"t understand the "hate". Not like they're a threat. I actually would go to a couple of their games if they played some teams like FSU , Stanford, SEC teams,, etc.. I will get tickets for 2015, our game in their new stadium. With all the Tiger fans in New Orleans and the Tulane fans it's going to be a hard ticket to get, The tailgating will be fun. Mardi Gras atmosphere. Now you haters go get your tickets for the Blazers, the Paladins, and the Golden Flashes. Apparently that's the competition you like.
