Yes, hoping for South Carolina vs Florida or Vandy.

I hope USCe wins title # 2!

I pull for the SEC in every major sport. Look at the respect the SEC has gotten in football with all of our NC's. You think we get 9 teams in bowl games otherwise? And this helps LSU in the long run. If an SEC team wins the CWS this year, that makes 3 in a row.

Yes, Vandy. They never win anything.

Yes. Because the SEC will have won 5 in a row in football and 3 in a row in baseball and it will irritate the hell out of the rest of the country.

Same here. What is good for the SEC is good for LSU.

I could argue that it hurts LSU if its Alabama, Ole Miss, or Arkansas

I can see that, but I think the SEC dominance helps all of us with RPI, BCS rankings, etc. The NE and West Coast media people have a hard time ignoring SEC dominance, as much as they hate it.

Them winning could give them an advantage in recruiting. How much has the SEC's dominance in baseball these past couple years helped? Did it get LSU in the tourney this year?

This is the correct answer.

The only possible harm a fellow western division team winning could be a recruiting issue. And I promise you, the chances of losing recruits to Arkansas, Ole Miss, or Alabama because they just won the NC is slim. Maybe, maybe just 1. And that's a big maybe for a recruit that was already sitting on the fence. And the rewards for an SEC team winning is much greater than losing that 1 recruit, if we were to even lose that recruit. Plus, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Arkansas aren't in the tournament anymore....

I can see this, but I think it is slight advantage.

It didn't help LSU because we finished 9th in the SEC, but it did get the SEC 3 national seeds.

That is actually a great point. One I find hard to argue with you about. That should not have happened. The SEC's dominance should have gotten the bubble team in (LSU this year). I think we got shafted due to the committee trying to "spread the wealth" in college baseball. The very point I'm arguing is the SEC getting 9 teams into bowl games, and 9 teams into the baseball tournament. It didn't work this year, I admit, but I promise, in the long run, it helps us all.

I would agree if the committee actually took it into account, but they have shown over the years to prefer to select based on georgraphy and northern inclusion.
