Last year we didn't have any problems against spread option teams.

Who did we play that ran an offense similar to Oregon's?

Auburn, Florida, and Miss St. all ran spread option offenses last year.

This game sucks honestly. Shouldn't have scheduled it for one of the years the national title is in New Orleans. No matter how unfair it is, the expectation for LSU next year will be to win the SEC and reach the national championship game. Even though the season opener against Oregon won't affect our chances at an SEC title, it will certainly affect our chances at a national title.

Wouldn't beating a top 3 team at a neutral site boost NC hopes through the roof? and if you lose to them it won't be nearly as detrimental as losing to some of the lower tier teams on our schedule.

If you are one-loss SEC champion, you are going to the national championship game no matter who you beat in your non-conference schedule, most of the time. If we lose, we have to win 12 in a row.

It's a bad game to start the season honestly. But hopefully, everything works out.

The only reason this could be a bad game is that it takes away a home game in a year where we are already gong on the road to play West Virginia. That is the only problem I have with it.

Signed undefeated Auburn '04. What killed them was their non conference schedule when they had to play CITADEL bc B. Green opted out. 12 in a row? You act like that isn't what NC participants suppose to do.

also in '07 if we didn't beat Va. Tech, they would've got the nod over us. Remember we had to jump them to get to #2.

Did you guys realized that new PurpleGold video was made to call out Oregon? That Duck Hunt scene at the end is hilarious!

Scoring 300 points against New Mexico doesn't really tell you that much about Oregon, several mediocre teams held their offense in check. I'm really expecting Auburn to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, if Oregon holds their own in this regard LSU is in trouble. (I think Oregon is losing 3 starting o-lineman as well?)
So long as LSU handles business against aTm I'm really expecting to start '11 in the top 5 or thereabout. All the hate and snide comments directed towards Miles this past year mean nothing. The laziness and herd mentality of sportswriters is going to work in LSU's favor in the early part of '11. Expect the media to fall right into the narrative of LSU winning in '03 and '07 and the BCSCG returning to NOLA in '11.
Happy New Year!

Alot can happen in an offseason. Remember, going into this year Masoli was going to try and get the Ducks to their 2nd straight Rose Bowl...oops.

New coaches, new faces emerge as playmaker-types in the offseason. If Oregon beats Auburn, are they as hungry.

We damn near let oregon State walk out of Death Valley after our 03' title.

The storylines will be interesting for this one...
