which is why state bothers me if we pull out a W vs bama. if we lose to bama, we beat up state i think. not overly worried about ole miss or R-kansas. but that's just me.
We beat State, unfortunately, not the other guy.

No one should overlook MSU. We may have a hell of a run going against them but that is since the game was moved to the front end of the schedule. They are now on the backend when they actually used to give us trouble. MSU broke the back of some good LSU football teams because the always sat after Bama.

Well, we certainly had Auburn, Florida, and Texas A&M as sure wins/ boring games.

How did that turn out for us?

Why would you do that? 3 road SEC games and you thought they would all be sure wins and boring games.

Your expectations are more at fault for your disappointment than the LSU offense.

Leave it.

What's particularly hilarious is that the posters who crowed about 2012 being "our year" and predicted that we would finish undefeated will be the exact same posters who will be quickest to shout down any dissatisfaction with 10-2/9-3 and ardently claim that such a record is a "great season."

(I realize this doesn't apply to the OP.)

The point is, don't look at MSU, Ole Miss, or Arkansas and just throw your hands up in the air and assume it's a foregone conclusion LSU will beat them with no other thought about it. Not this team. Other teams in the past (even under Miles), yes. Not this team.

If you do,

As we have to beat Bama to have any chance to play 13, 10-2 isn't that big of a stretch - 11-2 would imply we lose the SEC-CG. 10-2 means we might be in the CapOne. I'm not going to upset if it ends up 10-2, but I want to get through the next game before I "take" or "leave" 10-2 (The difference between 10-2 and 11-2 is Bama - the difference between 10-2 and 12-1 is Bama+winning the SEC-CG).

I am not assuming away the games against the Mississippi schools and Arky - they are all significant for different reasons. However, for all practical purposes - regardless of what happened in Gainesville - this has boiled down to a 1-game season. That was true on January 10, it was true during Spring ball, Summer workouts, August camp, etc. and it remains true right now.

I thought at the start of the season 10-2 but we will be lucky to end it at 9-3

TDT, you thinking like I do on this. However, suppose Bully upsets Bama and the Tigers beat the Tide. LSU will be up for the game no matter what.

Then, no way will the Tigers look past an undefeated grinding MSU. From there we will ride the swag train!

That is what I said last year, but hoped for better this year. 10-2 is about right.

I'll be thrilled with 10-2.

Does that mean Cap 1 bowl again?

Wouldn't be surprised with 10-2 with the second loss coming from Arky. Played like shite on the road and they have nothing to lose.

lol You take 10-2 EVERY year. It's so obvious nobody in here remembers the Hallman/DiNardo eras.
